4Blend HDR updated, adds flash control and bug fixes

4Blend HDR

4Blend HDR is the latest HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography app for Windows Phone 8.  The app takes three photos of your subject at varying exposure settings and blends them together into one image.  The result should give the photo more dynamic colors/range.  4Blend HDR has a simple layout, a healthy selection of effects filters and a voice-triggered shutter.

We found the app to have potential but was held back, in part, by stability issues.  As expected, an update was released today taking 4Blend HDR to version 1.0.1 to address the stability issues.  The update also adds a flash setting to the control panel to allow you to turn off your Windows Phone camera flash.

At first glance, the update does allow 4Blend HDR to run smoother with less crashes.  I also did not experience any issues in running other camera apps after using 4Blend HDR that occurred with the previous version.

4Blend HDR is a free app, available for Windows Phone 8 devices.  You can find your copy of 4Blend HDR here in the Windows Phone Store.

Marco Gomes1 says:

I tried it before and had a few issues, ended up unistalling it. Is it worth giving it another go?

CJ Thunder says:

I just tried it, not impressed on my 1020, but not many apps seem to take full advantage of the 1020's sensor.

Me too, not impressed at all!

L1520: It worked okay before the update. Now I get an error. It says an old firmware version has been detected. I went ahead and uninstalled and tried reinstalling and I am getting the same results.

I got that too, it works tho. Keeping it for now, I have so many camera apps.

Dumb, non-photography expert question: Can the HDR effect be achieved with DNG files in post-editing?
