7 Minute Workout for Windows Phone 8, high impact training in no time at all

7 Minute Workout

Earlier this week we shared the Windows Phone 8 fitness app 7-Minute Workout with you. Another version was released to the Windows Phone Store yesterday that follows the same concept but with a few more bells and whistles.

7 Minute Workout (no hyphen) adheres to the same philosophy that everyone can find seven minutes in a day to exercise. The app puts together a collection of twelve high impact exercises that offers many of the benefits of prolonged endurance training.  With 7 Minute Workout it's easy to find time in the day to get a fitness routine started.

7 Minute Workout has a similar design in that you hit the start arrow and you're off and exercising. The only equipment you'll need is a chair and your body.

Exercises include jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, squats, triceps dips and more. You have a set period of time to perform each exercise with rest periods scattered about so you don't get too fatigued.  Audio feedback is present to walk you through your exercises and rest periods.

In seven minutes, your workout is complete.  However, the developer recommends you perform three sets of the exercises to maximize your results. Essentially turning the app into a 21 minute workout.

7 Minute Workout

7 Minute Workout does go a little further with a settings menu where you can set your rest periods between sets and rounds as well as tweaking the order of the exercises.  In addition to the settings, 7 Minute Workout also offers a description of each exercise and an explanation behind the science of the workout's design.

7 Minute Workout isn't a bad option to consider if you're looking for a simple, "get to the point" type exercise app. I do like the simplicity of the 7-Minute Workout (hyphenated version) but the ability to customize the order of your seven minute routine with 7 Minute Workout is a nice option.

7 Minute Workout is a free, ad supported app for your Windows Phone 8 device. You can find 7 Minute Workout here in the Windows Phone Store.

"No! No, no, not 6! I said 7! 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch"

WP7 users 7 min and WP8 user 8 min! what so hard to understand ?

7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

Wow. Just went through a whole cycle. I feel like I just went to the gym for 45 mins. Sweating away. I can see this coming in handy on those mornings where I just don't want to go the gym or bad weather outside and don't feel like driving or on vacation or business travel. Definitely a great way to at least maintain.

I just went through the cycle as well. Big mac, large fry and a diet coke.

Yeah, I've just been doing bicep curls for almost 6 hours... lifting pints from waist-high to my face :P
