Access your Nokia Music mixes easily with Mix NFC Tag Writer

Mix NFC Tag Writer

If you use Nokia Music and are looking for a quick way to access your song mixes, take a gander at Mix NFC Tag Writer for your Windows Phone 8 device.

Mix NFC Tag Writer will let you generate and write links to your favorite Nokia Music Mixes to NFC tags. To tune into the mixes, just scan the NFC tag.  Mix NFC Tag Writer may not be an official Nokia app but it can come in handy when you want to access your favorite Nokia Music mixes with ease.

Mix NFC Tag Writer

Mix NFC Tag Writer's layout is about as straight forward as you can get. You have a Mixes Page where you can select mixes from Nokia Music's various categories (Featured, Country, Top Charts, etc.). Just find a mix to your liking, tap it and hold the NFC tag to your Windows Phone to apply the links.

You also have an Artist Page where you can select three artists to create an artist's mix that can be linked to a NFC tag as well.

Mix NFC Tag Writer is a free app for your Windows Phone 8 device that you can find here in the Windows Phone Store.  Just keep in mind that you'll need a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 device to use Nokia Music.

Thanks, Dean, for the tip!

Rising Mos says:

Come on Nokia, you should start combining your apps. We could live with all the Here apps (that should be one), but you just released the NFC writer! why not have this as an option in that app!

p.s. I understand that sometimes different people (divisions, etc...) work on two similar apps but you should work together for the consumer.

Nokia NFC tag wrtiter can do a lot, just try it out, you might find what you want.

Rising Mos says:

I am not saying it is bad. They are both great apps but I would have rather have one (that have all the funcationalities) instead of two :)

Hi, this is Steve, the developer of the Mix NFC Writer app. It's not an official Nokia app, I developed this in my own time and published at the end of last year as a way to demonstrate some of the features of the Nokia Music API. I do work for Nokia and will just say that I have been talking to the developers of the official Nokia NFC app.

4Tiles says:

They need to make an app like this for Xbox Music. I want to launch my playlists from NFC, not just the music +video hub.

blackfire says:

Sorry for the noob question: Where can I find NFC tags to use this? Thanks!

sr_gb says:

Depends where you live, but in the UK I used and would recommend http://rapidnfc.com/ - good price and dispatched within 15 mins. Obviously, other quality vendors are available!
For use with Windows Phone, make sure you get tags that are "formatted as NDEF" (it should be an option when you make the purchase.

Can I use tags for my 820 the same way the Sony experia t does, I very nearly bought the Sony for its NFC capabilities. Being able to change profiles for different situations is such a cool use of NFC.
