At the rate we’re getting leaks about the forthcoming Nokia EOS 41MP Windows Phone, set to be revealed next month here in New York, we’ll know just about everything there is about the camera-centric device.

Last night, a machined body of the EOS was displayed on the microblogging site Sina Weibo by @C Technology. The lens cap revealed that indeed it was for a 41MP device but what was not clear is why it was metal—was it a machined prototype or a second, metal version for non-AT&T carriers? (The one for AT&T is expected to the same polycarbonate as the Lumia 920.)

While we still don’t have those answers, we can now see that at least the metal version will come in two flavors: white and black, matching that of the Lumia 925 color offerings (actually, the Lumia 925 comes in black, white or grey).

Microsoft keeps on keeping on with the fine tuning of their Facebook Beta app. It was just 8 days ago that an update to version 5.0.1.4 came out, and already version 5.0.1.5 has made its way to the Windows Phone Store. The lack of change log likely means that this is a mishmash of bug fixes and performance improvements, but hey, we'll take it.

Microsoft has historically been less than enthusiastic towards free-to-play Xbox 360 games.  They did allow Japanese developer Toylogic to release Happy Wars (a 15-vs-15 multiplayer action game) last year. But here we are one year later and  hardly any free-to-play games have followed it. And yet things are starting to change...

During Microsoft’s E3 Media Briefing, the publisher revealed that popular PC Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO) World of Tanks would receive an exclusive console version called World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. Console gamers could be forgiven for not knowing this, but Wargaming.net’s World of Tanks is actually one of the largest and most popular MMOs in the world. The 360 port just might prove to be a big deal.

This week we sat down with Microsoft and Wargaming to learn the ins and outs of World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition and then shot a video with Associate Producer Olga Zinoveva as she played a multiplayer match on the E3 2013 show floor. Watch it after the break!

With the announcement of Microsoft’s Xbox One, there has been a collection of hatred focused on new video game DRM restrictions. Unfortunately many users don’t truly know the actual measures being put in place on Xbox One video games. In addition, there are a collection of new benefits that come with Xbox One games that are being overlooked. Let’s take a look and talk about how Xbox DRM licensing will actually work. My goal is to help you understand Microsoft’s decisions and see some of the benefits of the new DRM system. If you are still angry at the end of the article, which is fine – PlayStation 4 is a great alternative and I hope you enjoy it (Just let me know how good “The Last of Us” really is).

Earlier this week we saw the release of our new favorite calendar app, Simple Calendar by developer Wes Peter.

The app, which features in our opinion one of the nicest Live Tiles for appointments, has just received a 2.1 update today, which should improve quite a few things for users.

The Windows Phone 8 version of the official Vimeo app has been updated to version 2.1 and add the ability to perform search or pause your video playback with voice commands.

Not familiar with Vimeo? It's an online video service where you can watch, share, and discover video content. Much along the lines of Youtube.

The Vimeo app lets you tap into the online video service and pull all the video fun to your Windows Phone. You can watch and manage your existing Vimeo videos, use NFC Tap-to-Share to share your videos, search for videos, upload footage in HD and more depending on your subscription level.

If you’re on Verizon or just want an interesting Microsoft off-shoot of their Windows Phone series, then the Kin One (a partnership with Sharp) may be for you. Plus you can have it for the low-low price of $25 (free shipping).

The Kin One, was a device released in April 2010 and can be considered part of the Microsoft-in-transition-what-the-hell-are-we-doing phase of the company. Seriously, Windows Phone 7 was just announced and prepping for release that fall when the Kin One (and Two) came along and confused everyone. What does it run? How is it related to Windows Phone? And most importantly, Why?

Fun fact: the Kin One and Two grew out of the secretive 'Project Pink' at Microsoft...

Although you can still find the Lumia 521 for $129.95 at other shops, like your local Walmart (if it’s available) or on occasion a Microsoft Store (if you live near one), HSN.com is still selling the phone at what seems to be a great pace—plus it’s actually in stock.

The low-cost phone, which we reviewed here, runs normally for $149.95 at the popular online shop but perhaps for the holiday (Flag Day today, Father’s Day on Sunday), they’ve dropped it to an even more enticing $130. Mind you, that’s the no-contract, no strings attached price for the T-Mobile locked handset.

Microsoft has unleashed its popular 365 Office suite onto the iOS platform and is available to iPhone owners who have an active subscription. Those who download the app will be able to view and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents while on the go. The suite is fairly feature rich with SkyDrive support and more, but there's the absence of Outlook.

Nokia is certainly running full speed ahead, with the Lumia 925 being released in areas in Europe, the Nokia ‘EOS’ on the brink of announcement and the Lumia 928 evidently selling quite well on Verizon. Then there’s their other eight or nine Windows Phone 8 devices…

Speaking of those, if you have one, you’ll want to think about following our Store links to grab the latest iterations of Extras + Info and Play To.

Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: The Next Big Thing
Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: The Next Big Thing

Microsoft started adding collections to the Windows Phone Store that groups like minded apps and games. You have a photography collection, the Red Stripe Deals collection and few more.

With this week's Windows Phone Central roundup, we take a peak at the Next Big Thing collection. It's a group of games that have the potential of being big hits. They have strong ratings and it's a nice way to showcase the independent developers.

We picked four from the current collection that we think are quality additions to the Windows Phone gaming library.

Ever since the Nokia EOS aka their expected 41MP Windows Phone started having its own picture leaked all over the internet in the last few weeks, a second, less understood rumor had surfaced in conjunction: there are actually two versions of the device.

Personally, Windows Phone Central has no knowledge of a second version of an EOS-line of the Lumia 9xx series, though much like the Lumia 925 with its aluminum body to counter the polycarbonate 920, we suppose a metal-version of the upcoming EOS (or ‘Elvis’ if on AT&T) is hardly out of the question.

Most of you were unable to come to our swinging, swanky, super special launch party for Talk Mobile 2013 that happened exactly one week ago tonight. Because of that, we’ve recapped the event for you some super delicious HD video.

All in all, we had 680 of you phone geeks come out for our 3 hour rager. Truth be told, this was one of those events that could have gone either way: lots of fun with free alcohol and kicking music, or a bunch of dudes hanging around, awkwardly looking at their phone screens. Luckily for us, it was most definitely the former as the party was quite spectacular.

Last year, Windows Phone Central brought you an exclusive interview about a Windows Phone 8 title called Fairway Solitaire from Big Fish Games (and ported by Babaroga). Fairway is actually one of the games that Microsoft used during their Windows Phone 8 reveal event to exemplify how quick and easy porting from iOS to Windows Phone 8 can be. Funny thing is: Fairway Solitaire was slated to be a launch window game for the new mobile OS, but it has actually taken far longer than to port.

As a matter of fact, Big Fish Games has just published Fairway Solitaire for both Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 in celebration of E3 2013. The bad news is they published it as an indie title instead of an Xbox game as originally planned. But on the happy side, Fairway plays great and we’ve got an exclusive video in which Big Fish’s Patrick Wylie walks us through the game’s features. Check it out after the break!

Microsoft is once again making fun of Apple’s iPad in its latest commercial; this time, it takes on Dell’s XPS 10 Windows RT Tablet.

The advertisement starts out by picking on the iPad’s home screen; specifically the fact that you can’t zoom around and see an overview of your content. The Apple tablet screams “Ouch” in protest as a user tries to pinch the view unsuccessfully.

The Amazon Mobile app received a minor update today. Unlike the previous update in May, this bump offers little, other than unnamed bug fixes and performance updates. Amazon was one of the first big retailers to put out a Windows Phone app and it remains one of the best out there.

Amazon Mobile will not only let you surf the aisles of Amazon.com, place orders, check on your account, and more.  We've come to find that the Amazon Mobile app is also a great app to have handy while shopping to compare prices.  It even has a bar code scanner to make searching for products a little easier.  If you're looking for something that you can wait for the UPS man to deliver, it might save you a few bucks along the way.

After their Windows Phone 7.5 handset, the Allegro, came onto the scene last year with little fanfare, Acer maintained that they were still committed to Microsoft's Windows Phone platform. But after hearing nothing but crickets chirping from Acer's neck of the woods in 2013, many of us are wondering if they have wavered in that commitment. As it turns out, the answer is "yes, but..."

Camera360 is a Windows Phone 8 camera app that has a minimal approach to the viewfinder layout. Camera360 has a set of filters that can be easily applied to photos, that in turn can be shared via social networks.

The app was updated today to version 1.0 which adds a "touch shoot" feature, a few new photo editing options and a few performance optimizations.

Additionally, Camera360 has been ranked #2 by the Fortune Global Forum in the Best Startups category. The Fortune Global Forum is an invitation only type event, attended by the CEOs of the Fortune Global 500 companies. Receiving recognition from such an event is rather impressive.
