Verizon has announced that they will be including an extra gigabyte of data to customers who sign up for a new data plan. According to Verizon, you'll need to upgrade your phone or activate a smartphone on a More Everything plan with at least 1GB of data to get these free bits and bytes. This is in addition to the recent announcement of new 2GB single-line plans for $60 monthly that we heard about last week.

A lot of our devices are capable of running 3D games, but there's something about games in old-school pixel graphics that we seem to like. Javelin Masters does not have intense graphics, but it's really fun to play. You play as a javelin thrower. The goal is to throw it as far as you can. Update While the deputy mayor of Munich seems to suggest in the article that the government will strongly consider a return to Windows, it appears a final decision to move from the Linux OS has not yet been officially determined.

Ahead of HTC's press event in New York City on Tuesday, at least one Verizon Wireless retail store is getting ready for the launch of the Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8 with a store display that will also be going live tomorrow.

An email from a WPCentral reader included the image, which he told us was for a Verizon Wireless store display somewhere in Virgina that will be put in place on Tuesday. In a rather interesting development, the display notes that the phone is available both for Windows and Android.

Microsoft and the carriers have been busy pushing out the Lumia Cyan update for one of the most-prevalent Windows Phones to date, the Nokia Lumia 520 (and 520T in China). Although last week, we saw some carriers and countries in Europe being eligible for the Cyan update, starting Friday many more including Belgium, Croatia, Iceland and more have entered the 'available' list.

Additionally, countries like Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, and others in Africa are also now cleared for the Lumia Cyan and 8.1 updates. Finally, last week we saw Costa Rica get the update on Claro, but now the telecom has pushed an update to other countries in the region too, including Argentina, Guatemala and more.

The original Angry Birds game by Rovio is today picking up a whole bunch of new levels to play with the addition of the new "Flock Favorites" episode. The new levels are based on previous favorite episodes and bring yet more new life to a long standing favorite.

It's that time again, time for another Xbox One update and this month's offering has some nifty new features it brings to the table. Top of the list is a mobile purchasing option, giving you the ability to buy games and add-on content right within the Xbox SmartGlass application or by using Xbox.com. In its latest experiment, Twitter is receiving a lot of complaints from irked users when it decided to tweak its network to retweet messages that users mark as favorites. Users are complaining that they are seeing tweets that are favorited by those whom they follow in their Twitter timeline like a retweet, with many also getting notification alerts when others follow a new users.

Cyber Dust promises to be a secure, fun messaging experience with stickers, self-destructing messages, and alerts if someone has attempted to save your message by capturing a screen shot.

T-Mobile's new plan accommodates larger families

T-Mobile already has a special promotional 4-line family plan with unlimited text and talk along with 10 GB of data total, and now it seems that the un-carrier network is launching an even larger family plan to accommodate groups of up to 6. The 6-line plan is similar to the 4-line plan and will cost $120 per month.

Offline maps are a handy Windows Phone feature that can help minimize the amount of data your Windows Phone consumes while plotting a course, navigating your travels or simply finding where you are.

The offline maps receive updates from time to time and we have gotten a few reports that several are receiving updates today. We can confirm that the Southern United States (at least Alabama, Florida and Georgia) are receiving updates as well as various European regions.
