Looking to get the Lumia 1520? Then you might be interested in buying the unicorn 1520.3. This is the version of the device that has support for all LTE bands and works great with T-Mobile here in the United States. Newegg is selling the device right now for just $520. Toss in a special code and it goes down to $497.
Let's get one thing out of the way already. The visuals for this game look absolutely insane. Shoggoth Rising has originally launched on iOS and Android last December, but now it's on Windows Phone, too. You play as Ned, who has survived a shipwreck. You found a lighthouse, but you're far from being safe. Waves of sea creatures are going after you and you need to kill them before they kill you.

Zomato is a popular restaurant finder Windows Phone app that gives you recommendations for restaurants in your area and lets you look at menus, pictures, contact info, and directions. Available in over forty cities across the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, the UAE, New Zealand, South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Portugal, the Philippines, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, the Windows Phone app was recently updated to version 5 with a complete design and user experience refresh.
After the major refresh, the app continues to get quick updates, and has just received the fourth update in three months. The app has now been updated to version 18.104.22.168, and brings in some new features. The app's also lighter, and definitely faster (So, yeah, I've pre-empted a lot of comments!) across the board.
Microsoft's Windows Phone leader Joe Belfiore has confirmed that Microsoft will be forming a new team, based in Beijing, that will be tasked with creating projects for Windows PCs, tablets and Windows Phones specifically for the Chinese market
Yesterday, we reported that the unlocked Lumia 1520.3 variant started to receive the Lumia Cyan update. That phone works on AT&T and T-Mobile with LTE and is considered a prized win for consumers willing to spend the extra money. As it turns out, many country variants (CV) of the Lumia 1520 are now getting the Lumia Cyan update with Windows Phone 8.1. Unfortunately, many carriers are still listed as 'under testing.'
As usual, we have gone through and accumulated all the countries and regions that are now eligible for the Lumia Cyan update, in addition to updating our tracker page.
At the beginning of the month, Perfect World Entertainment revealed that its popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Neverwinter would be coming to the Xbox One in China. The MMO genre is one of the most popular types of games in China; they have literally a million billion of them over there. If I am not mistaken, that's a number so high that mathematicians don't even have a word for it.
Announcing a game for the Chinese market and announcing it for the rest of the world are two different things. But did anyone really think Perfect World wouldn't bring Neverwinter to North America and Europe as well? The PC version already has a strong following worldwide, after all. Today it became official: Neverwinter will arrive on Xbox One worldwide (following this year's Chinese release) in 2015!
A few days ago, it was widely reported that HTC is repositioning their flagship One M8 as a new Windows Phone dubbed "One (W8) for Windows." The phone may be the same as the hot selling Android phone, but with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 on board and destined for Verizon.
Windows Phone Central reported the phone could go on sale as early as August 21 and coincidentally enough, HTC has sent out limited press invites for August 19 right in New York City. No clues or themes were present on the invite, though the timing is suspect.
Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 tablet received high marks for its 12-inch screen from the research team at DisplayMate, which claim that it has "one of the very best and most accurate displays available on any mobile platform and OS."
The earlier promise of cheap Windows 8.1 tablets is being fulfilled with the reveal of a 8-inch product from Chinese company Kingsing. At $99, it may be the lowest price yet for a device that uses Microsoft's latest PC operating system.

Earlier this month we reported that Pinball FX2 from Zen Studios would be coming to Xbox One at the end of July as part of the ID@Xbox program. This heralded much rejoicing from pinball fans such as your friendly neighborhood Games Editor and even head honcho Daniel Rubino. But at the same time, we all lamented the inability to transfer purchased tables from the Xbox 360 version of Pinball FX2 to the Xbox One version. Microsoft had not allowed the developers to implement such a transfer.
As Xbox Windows Phone fans well know, sometimes Microsoft listens to user feedback and sometimes it does not. The Xbox One and ID@Xbox sections certainly have been extremely responsive for the last year or so. Case in point, Zen announced this week that users will be able to transfer their Pinball FX2 tables from the 360 to Xbox One right when the Xbox One version launches! Now that's what I call a win for consumers. Xbox One players will have to wait a little longer for the game though, as the new version has been delayed until August.
Sprint today released its earnings report for the first fiscal quarter of 2014, detailing a net income of $23 million, the best result in over seven years. The US mobile operator also confirmed that 3G network maintenance was largely complete, while LTE coverage expands to cover approximately 254 million people. Sprint had previously been struggling with new affordable plans to attract custom and forking out for upgrading 4G infrastructure.
Microsoft revealed what will be included in Update 1 for Windows Phone 8.1 earlier this morning and we're interested to hear your thoughts on features expected to make their way to Windows Phone. We're talking about Live Folders, Xbox Music improvements, Apps Corner and more.
Xbox Wire has made the Xbox One launch in China announcement official, which includes pricing info for the console in the region. Priced at 3,699 RMB ($600), the Xbox One will also include some pretty neat extras.
Sky has announced on the official NOW TV blog that support for its online service on the Xbox One console has been rolled out. Not only is Microsoft's console the home of gaming entertainment with Xbox Live, but there's also sweet integration with set-top boxes, services and more to really get the most out of interactive content and transform any TV into a media hub. We can now add NOW TV to the list of supported content providers.
"It seems faster" doesn't quite cut it for every update that hits the store with no change log. This includes Facebook Beta, which has just been bumped to version 22.214.171.124 (up from 126.96.36.199). Unfortunately, Microsoft has failed to provide a list of changes included in the release an thus we're not entirely sure what's actually new with this update. That said, it's available for download.
