At IFA, Lenovo has announced two new products running Windows 8.1 — a 17-inch touchscreen gaming notebook called the Y70 Touch and a budget desktop catered to gamers, dubbed the Erazer X315.

The Lenovo Y70 Touch is the hardware vendor's first 17-inch notebook with a multi-touch screen. The 17.3-inch full-HD display is standard across all models, but internal hardware is customisable. You can configure up to an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16 GB DDR3L RAM, 1 TB internal storage — SSHD with either 8 GB SSD or a 512 GB SSD — and an NVIDIA GTX-860M with 4 GB video memory. The notebook features JBL stereo speakers and comes with a backlit keyboard, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, card reader (SD,MMC,SDXC,SDHC), HDMI out, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and optional Bluetooth 4.0.

With dimensions of 422.9mm x 290.6mm x 25.9mm and on overall weight of 7.5 pounds, the Y70 Touch isn't exactly portable, but it does offer decent gaming prowess. The notebook is set to go on sale in October, with a starting price of $1299.

Erazer X315

If you're looking for a desktop solution that won't run into thousands of dollars, the Erazer X315 is a system you should consider. The desktop has been designed to play mainstream titles at full-HD resolutions, with most configurations coming under $1000.

Microsoft announced a big batch of upcoming ID@Xbox games for Xbox One at E3 earlier this summer. One of the more interesting titles from that announcement is Woolfe: the Red Hood Diaries from Belgian game developer GriN. Woolfe is a 3D action-platformer starring Little Red Riding Hood. The game intertwines her tale with several other fairy tales, creating a dark and unique fantasy world.

GriNrecently launched a successful Kickstarter campaign (with just over a day left to contribute as of this writing) to help finance Woolfe's development. We reached out to Wim Wouters at GriN to find out more about the studio's plans for the game, as well as their experiences with the ID@Xbox program and Kickstarter. Continue reading for our first Xbox One developer interview!

It's been a big news day for Xbox One game debuts, and we're seeing three additional titles added to the mix with Dance Central Spotlight, Warframe, and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate all debuting on Microsoft's living room gaming console. For gamers who need some entertainment after school now that we're in back-to-school season, these games should offer some entertainment reprieve.

Space Squids is a endless battle game for your Windows Phone that has a retro feel that reminds me of the old Atari console games or maybe something from a Commodore 64 system.

You pilot a space ship through endless waves of enemy ships and bosses. It's a simple game that doesn't lack challenge and an update was released today taking the game to version 3.0.

The game has actually been updated several times since we last touched on Space Squids with today's update delivering a new gaming engine (Unity) to Space Squids.

Extras + Info for Lumia Windows Phones has once again been updated, but the same changelog exists and we can only spot small bumps in version numbers for system settings. Some of Microsoft's new Lumia system apps were inherited through its purchase of Nokia's mobile devices division and are updated regularly. The issue is with each release it's not always clear what each version brings to the table.

Need a clearer indication that Windows 9 is set to launch soon? In a post on micro-blogging service Weibo, Microsoft China asked, "Microsoft's latest OS Windows 9 is coming soon, do you think the start menu at the left bottom will make a come back?" The post was accompanied by a Windows 9 logo, which was quickly removed, but not before Cnbeta managed to spot it.
