AT&T's WinMo roadmap for the rest of the year

Lookie, lookie. Someone's got their hands on the roadmap of upcoming devices for AT&T.

What you can expect later this year, in the fourth quarter:

New Pantech Duo:

  • Windows Mobile SP 6.1
  • Tri-band HSDPA (3.6)/Quad-band EDGE
  • 528 MHz Processor
  • 128MB RAM
  • 256MB ROM
  • USB, Bluetooth 2.0
  • Micro SD
  • 2 MP Camera
  • GPS

The current Pantech Duo will get a WinMo 6.1 upgrade in October.

Samsung Blackjack 2: Upgrade to 6.1 sometime this month.

Motorola Q9H: Upgrade to 6.1 sometime this month.

Samsung Blackjack 3 (the i788):

  • Windows Mobile SP 6.1
  • Tri-band HSDPA (3.6); Quad-band EDGE
  • 528 MHz processor
  • 128MB RAM/ 256MB ROM
  • Camera 3 MP
  • AGPS
  • VSC
  • WiFi

AT&T Tilt: Upgrade to 6.1 sometime this month.

AT&T Tilt 2:

  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition
  • Tri-band HSDPA (3.6); Quad-band EDGE
  • Qualcomm 528 MHz processor
  • 256MB ROM/ 128MB RAM
  • 3.0 MP camera
  • WiFi; Bluetooth 2.0
  • PTT; AGPS
  • VSC (at launch)

Also: Another Samsung device in the fourth quarter, possibly the Omnia.

Bad news for Palm fans: The Treo 750 is specifically mentioned as NOT getting an upgrade to WinMo 6.1. No mention yet of the upcoming Treo 850, but that's not too big of a surprise.

AT&T's WinMo roadmap for the rest of the year

It's been rumored that the i788 was going to be the BlackJack III as stated in this posting, but if you look at the specs in the original article they do not match the i780 (e.g. different processor speed). But the unnamed Samsung device looks like a possible match.

I noticed you left out the part on the Tilt 2. Is this because no one knows what this one actually is?
AT&T Tilt 2 due Q4 - Specs below:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition
Tri-band HSDPA (3.6); Quad-band EDGE
Qualcomm 528 MHz processor
256MB ROM/ 128MB RAM
3.0 MP camera
WiFi; Bluetooth 2.0
PTT; AGPS
VSC (at launch)

I'm not so sure that we should take this at face value. AT&T still says (as of this week) that they're not sure whether or not they're going to release an update to WM 6.1 for the Moto Q Global. Moto still says (as of this week) that the Q9h (Q Global) is not currently compatible with WM 6.1. We've all seen Microsoft demo WM 6.1 on an AT&T branded Q9h. If if indeed it is coming in July, then why do AT&T and Moto insist on lying? Could they not just say "soon"?

Disappointing to not see the 750 on this list. I thought it was actually mentioned when they announced MSCDM (??) way back when. I'm running 6.1 on a 750 now and it's a MUCH better device.

It appears that this "roadmap" was indeed fake. I have a funny feeling that AT&T will hold off on releasing the update until sometime AFTER new upcoming models are released that ship with WM 6.1 on them.
