Australia taking pre-orders for unlocked Nokia Lumia 900

Lumia 900

For our friends Down Under, you may want to head to Mobicity's website and take a long hard gander at their new Nokia Lumia 900 preorder page. You can now slap your cold, hard-earned $799 down for your choice of black, white or cyan Lumia 900, fully unlocked. Ka-ching!

What's more, they have a date of "late April" as when to expect your device which puts you right about where AT&T is going to be offering the flagship Nokia phone to US customers.  Guess that rumored 45-day exclusive for us is out the window.

This Lumia 900 has some nice network support too so it should work in most places: GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850 (NextG/Vodafone 850/US3G), 3G 1900, 3G 2100.

Hello my next phone. =)

rodneyej says:

In order for WP to succeed the amount of phones released per year need to be at least 2-3 times more than what's available now. We don't have room for delays.

TheOHouse says:

I know of a company that releases only 1 phone per year that's doing pretty well. WP just needs simple, good hardware. I don't think quantity really matters. After all, the user experience is virtually the same no matter what the phone (same WP OS). Can't wait to see the 900 in-person!

Haha I see what you did there :P

jmerrey says:

or maybe the 45 day exclusive is still valid, which would put as at a US release date of mid march ;-)

WilliamC1972 says:

Sucks that it won't work on T Mobile's USA 3g network. Doesn't support the 1700 MHz band. Damn!!!!!

Heads up!
The NZ branch of MobiCity is also taking pre-orders for Lumia 900 in New Zealand:
Same deal, but with local support.

mdram says:

How would a 45 day US eclusive apply to Australia or Canada?

hipporama says:

I was thinking the same thing. I thought it actually meant 45 day exclusive to AT&T in the USA only.

rastanac says:

Been thinking of getting the HTC Titan from expansys but might have to wait for this one instead! is also taking pre-orders but no pricing and availability info just yet.

Ugh... Too much! I'll wait for it to come out on ebay for $500-600
