Bike Mania - Review
Bike Mania has hit the Windows Phone Marketplace. Bike Mania is a motocross styled game that has already enjoyed success as an online game and every indication says the game will enjoy the same success on the Windows Phone platform.
Bike Mania's goal is simple, maneuver your motorcycle over various obstacles without wiping out. Controls are laid out on-screen with throttle controls resting on the right side of the screen and your motorcycle rider's orientation control sitting on the right. The orientation control will lean your rider forward or backwards as needed to keep the motorcycle balanced.
There are sixty challenging levels taking you across grassy areas, scrapyards and ice. Each level is re-playable and when you replay a level, a ghost image will appear to mimic your last run at that particular level. In essence, giving you an opponent to race against.
Graphics are great, sound effects realistic and the weather effects add to the challenge. There is a tutorial stage at the beginning to help you get used to the motorcycle. The only thing missing is a free style area to let you open things up and try your hand at stunts.
All in all, Bike Mania is a welcomed addition to the Windows Phone Marketplace. There is a free trial available to let you try Bike Mania out before buying. The full version will run $.99 and both can be downloaded here (opens Zune) at the Marketplace.
