Bing introduces Image Match to help you find the right picture

Bing

When you are searching for an image on bing.com/images, you can always pick the one you like while sorting through hundreds of them. However, once you’ve made the choice, sometimes you find that it’s low resolution, watermarked or an odd dimension leaving you to go back to scrolling through the results page.

The Bing team has introduced a new feature, Image Match, to take care of this common hassle.

When you are browsing images, find the Image Match button at the bottom of the image to match the selected image in a few simple clicks. When you click the button, Bing will show you a list of different size images that you can then narrow down by size. If you want to see all images, click on "View all sizes".

Bing

Alternatively, while browsing on the Web, grab the URL of any image that you’d want to find matches of, hit the Image Match link next to the search box on bing.com/images, and paste that URL for matched results.

Not just with images that you find on the Web, you can also use the Image Match feature with your own collection of popular images. All you need to do is upload the image directly to bing.com/images, and Bing will match the results.

Bing’s image search is one of my favorite Bing tools, and features like these are very helpful to power users as well as underscoring Bing’s engineering excellence. The update is rolling across to users now, so you might have a while before the feature is available for your search results.

Bing introduces Image Match to help you find the right picture

Not saying that this information isn't useful but Bing has had this feature for awhile. I know I've used it before but not recently... Unless it was a dream about the future - Ahhhh I freaked myself out.

Indeed. I only wish Bing was that good in the Netherlands where I live. Hate to say it, but Bing isn't quite up to par with Google search over here.

This is the only difference between Google and Bing. When Google release some service to the web, they release it for the whole world. With Bing, it doesn't even provide Dictionary service (triggered by "define" keyword), unless you change the region setting to US.

It seems like marketshare is not something Bing team cares bout.

Reverse image search was the only thing I used Google for, but not any more! I've been waiting years for Bing to add this feature, so glad they did.
Bing It On!

its creepy to see someone say almost the same as i normally do, but i was using tineye instead, f google

Indeed. I've hated being forced back to Google for this functionality, but gone are those days! Bing for the win!

Showing similar images was a take on this they already had, but I'm glad to see them improving it. I know Google has had this feature for some time, but I rarely used it when I used google. Maybe I'll find a need for it now.

Yah, I'm still confused of what the difference of this Image Match and View More Sizes option I've always had is? If someone could explain, that would be great!

I guess now you can specify a URL to look for similar images of, instead of having to search for an image first?

I only use BING for my searches, glad it is coming out with more features. Maybe Google will finally start losing some of their mindless followers.

Quite the paradox. The followers that are mindless could not think on their own thus they will always follow Google as they have no mind to do otherwise.

I so love these features that are released for Bing USA and never make it to the other Bing Regions.. I'm in Australia and so many good Bing Features are not available to us

WHY does it take Months/Years to get PARITY?

Too bad Bing sucks so bad outside of US... Microsoft should really work on making Bing more relevant in other locations worldwide.

I've been using Bing image search for a long time. For me, the big feature is license filtering, so I know I'm allowed to use the image I'm snagging. Some may scoff at that, but if you want people to respect your property rights, you've got to respect theirs.

BTW, if you've never used Bing images, you can also filter by orientation (vertical/horizontal/square), color, and more. Great tool!

Re: Nerdy Woman,
Thanks for this information. I was wondering how copyright fit into this topic. I'm glad to hear that it is listed. I'll try it out later today. "Respect other peoples work."

Saw something similar on that Catfish programme only a few days ago. Thought it was superb, but couldn't understand why I had not come across it before. Wonderful.

Second that.

And I use Bing Desktop, new awesome background every day!

To help you find the right picture...or figure out who that fully developed woman is in a picture on my twitter timeline...you know, "work"

I had this too before it dissappering. Maybe I just test the beta and I'm so glad this feature is back!! I really use it much.

honestly? bing image search is the only reason i use bing on the pc. ...and of course i use it on my lumia 920... but the image search layout at bing is so much more awesome than this stupid thing which google does...
