Call of Duty Elite for Windows Phone 8 updated, adds custom classes, challenges, and more

Seems like only yesterday we got Call of Duty: Elite for Windows Phone 8 (It was actually mid-March). Fast forward to today and we now have the first update to the app that adds a few features. Let’s check it out.

Disclaimer: You know I’m a Halo guy through-and-through, but I still can’t ignore an app that a lot of you will like if you’re COD fans and players. So what does version 1.1.0 bring to the table? You’ll be getting:

  • Custom classes – edit your custom classes and push them to Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
  • Challenges – view your in-game challenge progress for Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Modern Warfare 3.
  • Search – search and view other players’ and clan’s stats.
  • Push Notifications – get the latest Call of Duty news and updates directly on your device.

Call of Duty Elite for Windows Phone Screenshots

Those look like some fairly awesome features. I would love to edit my Halo 4 loadouts on my Windows Phone device when out and about. Looks like Call of Duty players have one thing I am quite jealous of. Maybe I should start playing a little or just wait for Call of Duty: Ghosts?

Call of Duty readers, how’s this latest update working for you? Anything else they need to add or is it fairly feature complete now?

You can grab Call of Duty: Elite right here in the Store for Windows Phone 8 devices, use the QR code below, or swipe to the right in our app.

Is this a game

raul_junior says:

No this is just a way to manage your black ops 2 stuff on your phone, if you pay for the subscription

exyaster says:

Elite is free for Black Ops 2.

dreonedon says:

Ooh ok thanks

Challenges are working good but I cannot seem to choose weapons attachments in the app for a custom class. I can select the guns themselves but no attachment options e.g I have the ACR on a class click on it to choose a new attachment and nothing happens.

Would be awesome if waypoint worked like this with halo 4

Wael Hasno says:

Tell me about it.. What a let down that was.. Hopefully, with Xbox One, more stuff like this will be integrated to our phones, one way or another.

Kellzea says:

Use the halo4 smartglass app. Waypoint is for reach.

You need to use the smartglass app for halo4

Call of duty is over rated lol the real game is BATTLEFIELD 4

Jaskys says:

Nope CoD and BF both overated, it's just a simple arcade games.
Only realistic games is Arma and Red orchestra.
BF/CoD is for casual players, that's why they're so popular.

Heavy Rain says:

@Jaskys that comment was outrageous minus the fact COD is overrated.

glassadam says:

Cool, the custom classes stuff is a great addition, I could see getting some use out of that when I've got some free time and and wanna tinker with my setup.

Heavy Rain says:

Wait for COD: Ghost

DeviousD says:

We never did get an official Battlelog app.

Windows Phone 7.X? Please!? C'mon, just because Sprint is holding me back from new hardware doesn't mean I dont play COD.

This so much. I've bought every game since 4 and still can't get the stupid app. Thanks alot Activision. Damn money grubbers.

benners76 says:

Sweet! Now I can spend even MORE time obsessing over COD!!!

Like you Sam I'm a die hard Halo guy. I did play through the black ops 2 story and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I can't seem to get into the multi player. I've tried but everyone seems to be rude kids who are way more advanced than me. I wish they had something like Spartan ops with more of a story driven co-op feel to it. If any wpcentral gamers have the patience friend me on Xbox live, I'm willing to give it another try.

When do we get battletoads?
