Camera360 gets updated and takes home global recognition

Camera360 is a Windows Phone 8 camera app that has a minimal approach to the viewfinder layout. Camera360 has a set of filters that can be easily applied to photos, that in turn can be shared via social networks.

The app was updated today to version 1.0 which adds a "touch shoot" feature, a few new photo editing options and a few performance optimizations.

Additionally, Camera360 has been ranked #2 by the Fortune Global Forum in the Best Startups category. The Fortune Global Forum is an invitation only type event, attended by the CEOs of the Fortune Global 500 companies. Receiving recognition from such an event is rather impressive.

As far as the update to Camera360 is concerned you can now tap the screen to capture a photo. This feature can be de-activated in the settings if you find yourself having too many accidental shutter activations. The new editing tools includes crop and rotate options to let you resize and tinker with the photo's orientation. The performance optimizations not only add to the app's stability but also should lower power consumption.

You still have the Creative Compass Tool that makes switching between camera modes easy, an abundance of effects filters that can be applied to your images and eight frame or film style options.  All in all, the updated version adds to what was already a very nice Windows Phone 8 camera app.  If you're looking for an alternative to the native Windows Phone camera app, Camera360 is worth a try.

Camera360 is a free app for your Windows Phone 8 device and you can find it here in the Windows Phone Store.
