It has been a long time since we’ve seen an update for Weather Flow on Windows Phone. In fact, version 1.5 of the app came out last August and introduced a few new languages and Live tile improvements. After a long period without an update we’re finally getting one today. Does it bring those transparent Live tiles a lot of you have wanted since last Monday?

It was last June that we first talked about Project Tripod, an upcoming photography app with a lot of potential. This is an app that is coming out of the AppCampus program. That means the Project Tripod team received funding and help from Microsoft, Nokia and Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. In exchange, apps from AppCampus are exclusive on Windows Phone for 90 days before they’re allowed to join competing platforms. Project Tripod is an app with so much potential we can’t wait to see it go multi-platform, but in the meantime we’ll very much enjoy this Windows Phone exclusive.

Indian Railways, the state-owned enterprise operated by the Government of India through the Ministry of Railways, is one of the world's largest railway networks and transports over 25 million passengers daily.

Last year, Microsoft India pulled off a major exclusive with the launch of the official IRCTC app that still is only available for Windows Phone and Windows devices and gets a lot of envy from our friends on Android or iOS.

Enjoy checking in when out and about? If so, you're likely a Foursquare user. 4th & Mayor is a premium experience wrapped up in an unofficial app. The third-party app is also ahead of the official client in terms of functionality, especially with the release of the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview. You can now integrate 4th & Mayor (Foursquare) into the Windows Phone Me tile with the new Social Extension app.

Microsoft has released a preview of its Windows Phone Remote Desktop app on the Windows Phone Store. Should you be rocking the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers, you'll be able to take part in this beta program too. The app enables users to connect to remote computers and enjoy the full Windows experience through the small screen, regardless as to where they may be currently located.

Gold's Gym International, Inc. is an American chain of international fitness centers with more than 700 locations in 30 countries. The largest gym chain in the world, Gold’s Gym started operations in India in 2002.

Gold’s Gym India has introduced a personal training app for Windows Phone devices. The My Daily Fitness Guide app is their official app that aims to keep you fit and stay healthy serving as your personal trainer and nutritionist. The app helps you to get exercise and diet plans, log your gym workouts, and track your progress.

Some of you were looking for file managers for Windows Phone 8.1, so a couple of developers have quickly delivered. These file managers let you access your Documents, Downloads, and other user folders. You can essentially read, copy, and move files.

The two apps that we’re looking at are Aerize Explorer and Pocket Explorer. They share similar features with a few differences. Both apps are currently works in progress but can already be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store.

Samsung is an illusive partner for Microsoft when it comes to Windows Phone. The manufacturer has produced some excellent hardware for the platform (annoyingly so), but still refuses to market its products effectively and offer necessary support. Weather Premium takes on the weather in a common sense approach but does not stray from the traditional forecasts too far.

Weather Premium offers the weather forecast in three styles, Classic, Clother and Awesome. While the Windows Phone weather app lacks radar and severe weather alerts, Weather Premium does a nice job presenting the basic weather information to get you through the day.

Measure light with Lux-o-Meter for Windows Phone

You can now use your Windows Phone device as a lux meter thanks to a new app that has just released called Lux-o-Meter. It measures brightness or illuminance using the built-in light sensor. The sensor is usually next to the front-facing camera on your device. Go ahead and check where it is on your phone.
