Pic Stitch is a relatively new Windows Phone collage builder with a built in photo editor. It's a fairly simple app that has a nice selection of collage templates that can be customized along with a photo editor powered by Aviary (much like you see in Instagraph and other Windows Phone photography apps).

Pic Stitch is a decent photo app for Windows Phone 8 with the only real downside being that it lacks a trial version.

Samsung continues to support its Windows Phones with OEM app updates. Today we're looking at two apps from the Samsung Zone that have been recently updated. Both Now and RSS Times have been bumped to new versions (3.7.0.2 and 2.0.2) with the former removing top tweets and adding in a currency converter. We're not entirely sure what's new in its RSS reader.

Windows Phone has always been one of the better mobile operating systems with a superb music experience builtin. They may have taken a few steps back with Xbox Music, but you can attribute that to growing pains from building a new music platform. That said, you can always improve the music experience and that’s why we’ve got great options in the Windows Phone Store to keep your tunes fresh. Apps like Pandora, Audiocloud, Rdio, Beem, and others help to give you new sources of music.

Newcomer Sleeve for Windows Phone 8 hopes to do something a little different from other music apps. Let’s check it out.

Windows Phone App Roundup: Photo Apps
Windows Phone Central App Roundup: Photo Apps

When I sift through all the apps on my Windows Phone, photo apps seem to be the dominant app of choice. Everything from Instagraph to Soviet Kam to Photo360 seems to have found its way onto my phone.

But what about the seldom seen Windows Phone photo apps? For this week's roundup, we went all the way to the last page of the "best rated" photo app listing in the Windows Phone Store. We picked out four of the dozen or so photo apps that were on the back page to highlight.

Most are fairly simple photo editing/enhancement apps but simple isn't necessarily bad.

Lighthouse Game Studio’s follow-up to Torchbear, the location-based game Greed City has been out on Windows Phone 8 for something like two months now. And in that time, the developer has released its fair share of updates. Each one of these makes the free game a little more rounded and more worthy of players’ time.

Today’s update, version 1.1.7 adds an exciting new feature: the ability to comment on other users’ actions, plus a few more minor features and bug fixes.

The Swedish television network Sveriges Television has released an app for Windows Phone. It enables consumers to watch favourite shows, clips and live broadcasts while on the move. While the app is essentially the mobile version of the network's website, it does enable playback directly on the device, which is handy if you're not currently at a computer.

We've been provided a heads up that Effectual for Windows Phone will be updated in the next handful of days. This upcoming release will add auto-suggest and spellchecking functionality, which is something we picked up in our previous coverage. What's more is the team has other features on its list for future versions.

The popular unofficial Wikipedia app by Rudy Huyn has been updated. Recently winning Microsoft's Next App Star contest, the app has been bumped with minor improvements (judged by the small increase in the build version). Now on 2.0.3, we recently looked at version 2 which saw the app better support Windows Phone 8.

Interval is an Windows Phone 8 app that puts an alarm, stopwatch and timer all under one roof. The app has live tile support, a clock view and a nice selection (all be it small) of alarm tones.

Admittedly, alarm apps can be a little on the boring side but Interval does a nice job of spreading everything out on three main pages and even has a Sleep Cycle alarm feature designed to keep pace with your 90 minute sleep cycles.  Interval could use a little fine tuning, but all in all, it's not a bad option for those looking for a Windows Phone 8 alarm app.

Along with late notice of this week’s new Xbox Windows Phone 8 release Angry Birds, we also missed out on advance notice of the Xbox Red Stripe Deal of the Week this time out. Hey, sometimes the crystal ball gets fuzzy, or somebody swipes it and leaves you with a plain old Magic 8-Ball. We’ll do our best to swipe it back real soon.

The important thing is the Red Stripe Deals are on sale right this minute! This time Xbox game Farm Frenzy 2 from Alawar headlines the week’s three discounts, down from $2.99 to only 99 cents. It went on sale once before back in May 2012, but for $1.99, so this time makes for a better deal.

Read on for an in-depth look at Farm Frenzy 2, plus links for its fellow sale game DrawStickman: Epic and the Jack of Tools Pro app!

If you’ve been around the Windows Phone scene you’ve probably stumbled on the Insider app sometime in the past. Back at Mobile World Congress, we gave you a demonstration of the new, redesigned foursquare app for Windows Phone 8. Co-developed with the fine folks at Nokia, the app looks amazingly fast and fluid and needless to say, our mouth’s were watering.

The app was given a fuzzy release window of March, but that was assuming it was ready for the Store (a few other apps have yet to come out too that were shown off). Obviously that time has come and gone, which can only mean it’s still not ready yet.

What’s that? You need some more Instagram news for Windows Phone to keep going? Well, we don’t have any more info on an official app, though May keeps popping up. In the meantime, it looks like a new contender is getting ready to enter the field: Itsdagram.

Made by developer Daniel Gary (who also makes the popular Pinsation app), Itsdagram steps up its game against the current uploader Instagraph in that it allows unfettered, direct access to Instagram’s service. That means you can create an account, upload directly for posting, deleting, commenting, liking, searching, tagging, etc.--just about everything else an official client can offer. Check out the video below to see it in action.

It's becoming quite the update central lately with numerous apps sporting new releases. We can now add both Dailymotion and Viber to the list of recently updated. What's new in the new versions? Your guess is as good as ours. Viber is a fairly minor bump from 2.2.2.0 to 2.24.0, whereas Dailymotion has leaped from 1.3.1.0 to 2.0, but we're not entirely sure what's included.

Microsoft has released its Switch to Windows Phone apps on both Android and Windows Phone. Available on Google Play and the Windows Phone Store, the apps work in unity to help make it easier for those on Google's platform to hop across. It's a welcomed addition and one we believed would be of use for those who would like to check how many of the apps they use are available on Windows Phone.
