One of Microsoft's newest Windows Phone 8.1 devices, the Lumia 735, should slowly be available for many European residents over the next few weeks. Now it looks like the heavy promotion for the smartphone has begun with a new TV commercial made for Italy that has some strange visuals to promote its five megapixel "selfie" front facing camera.

Microsoft has today announced the Lumia 730 for Vietnam at an event in Ho Chi Minh City. The Lumia 730 making its way to consumers in the region is - of course - configured for dual-SIM support, perfect for those with needs requiring more than a single phone number to be attached to a mobile device. If you ask an Apple store employee for the difference between an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPhone 6, you can expect to hear that the 6 Plus has a bigger screen, but there's one more thing they'll most likely mention. The iPhone 6 Plus a better camera. That's because Apple has finally included Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) in an iPhone. Lumia cameras had this feature for a while now.

I was curious how Apple's video performance compares with the latest cameras found on the Lumia 930, Lumia Icon, and Lumia 1520. So, I went to the park and shot some videos. Watch the split screen comparison.

In case you have not heard, the iPhone 6 and its larger cousin the iPhone 6 Plus launched over the weekend. Apple reportedly sold over 10 million of the new phones to consumers, breaking yet another record. Regardless of your opinion of the iPhone, any smartphone that can sell that much in three days sets the bar for the industry.

How does the iPhone 6 stack up against some of the top Windows Phones? It is a valid question, especially if you are in the market for a new phone, considering switching, or a just curious as to where Apple is still leading.

I managed to pick up the iPhone 6 this weekend, like millions of others. In the following video, I give my impressions of the phone as compared to the Lumia 1020, Lumia 1520, and HTC One for Windows (the Lumia 925 and Lumia 930 also appear).

Microsoft has announced that it is rolling out a new software update for the Lumia 930 smartphone, bringing the firmware version number up to 14353 (from 14252) and the OS is now 14157, which is the same as the current Preview for Developers.

For those who may recall, OS 14157 is the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, meaning users do not need to be enrolled in the Preview program. Besides the HTC One for Windows on Verizon, this is the first official, non-preview phone to get Update 1.
