Polls are fun. They’re a good way to quickly get a feel for how the Windows Phone community feels on a particular topic. We just learned that the Nokia Lumia 1520 becomes available on November 22nd here in the United States. We also just learned from a close source that the yellow Lumia 1520 might be scarce. So we’re curious, what color are you getting?

It was two weeks ago in Abu Dhabi at Nokia World 2013 that we finally saw the next flagship Windows Phone device – the Lumia 1520. It’s the biggest Windows Phone device to date, packing a 1080p display into a 6-inch screen. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 800, which is a 2.2GHz quad-core processor that will help you process those photos from the 20MP sensor with ease. Are you planning on getting one? Take our poll at let us know.

2013 has been an exciting year for Windows Phone. As Microsoft’s share of the smartphone market has grown, so has Windows Phone Central, as we now near 3 million unique visitors a month, making us by far the number one site for all Windows Phone news and information.

As such, we’re continuing to expand and refine how we do things. For instance, many of you asked us to re-cap app news on the weekend, which Sam Sabri has obliged you with. Likewise, we can’t ignore India and how much it matters to the Windows Phone ecosystem—so we’re addressing that too.

So. here’s what’s new at your favorite Windows Phone and Microsoft site.

If you’re like us, you’ve spent a good chunk of the day updating your PCs, tablets and Ultrabooks to the brand spanking new (and spectacular) Windows 8.1 OS. If you did, pat yourself on the back because we have a small, but cool, bonus for you troopers: The Windows Phone Central Live Tile.

Sure, it’s not our official RT app, which is still in the works (you can bug Jay about it), but as runner up you can use the new Internet Explorer 11 “pin to start” feature, which will give you four Tile sizes: small, medium, large or wide. The tile is also Live, pulling directly from our site—think of it as another cool way to keep up to date on your favorite Windows Phone and Microsoft news.

The Tile will update every 30 minutes, giving you a peek at what’s new on the site!

Last Thursday, Nokia gave the Lumia community a nice little surprise with their beta app Glance Background. The app allows users with phones that support the Glance Screen to add images to the mix. It was welcomed with open arms and the creativity in the community was on full display with the little contest we put together in the Forums.

It was tough to pick our favorite three, but we finally settled on some images to win some gift cards to the Windows Phone Central Store. Let’s check out the winners.

Poll time! Earlier this morning Microsoft announced their brand new Developer Preview Program. You can think of it as the enthusiast program that was announced a few blue moons ago. Shortly after that, any registered developers could download GDR3 to their Windows Phone 8 devices. It’s been a busy day and a lot of you are now running GDR3 on your handset. What’s your favorite new feature? Take the poll below to answer.

You may (or may not) be aware of Nokia's latest app that just went into beta - Glance Background. If you're not, be sure to read this article for more information, as well as our awesome hands-on coverage to see what all the fuss is about.

While you can add your own images and create some cool effects, we thought it would be truly awesome to show off the Windows Phone Central logo while glance screen is active.

Last night, we reported that our app was having a few troubles on the AT&T network (and a few of you on Verizon said the same). It was a networking issue, not the app directly and while we won’t bother you with the details, it should be working for most users now.

We just checked on our phones and have finally had a successful connection, but we need to make sure all is good for the rest of you. So if you use our app and are on AT&T, Verizon, etc. please take the poll below and let us know your results!

We're not entirely sure what's going on here, but we've just had a flood of e-mails from users who are reporting that our app is crashing when they try to use it. Coincidently they all appear to be AT&T variants of Windows Phone. We're currently testing the app to establish exactly what's happened but first tests seem to show that when loading over the AT&T mobile network, the app fails, Wi-Fi connections and other networks appear to be unaffected.
