E3 2012 - Skulls of the Shogun developer interview and multiplayer hands-on

One of the biggest highlights of E3 2012 for us has been playing Skulls of the Shogun on Windows Phone and Xbox Live Arcade and meeting two of its creators at 17-BIT. Skulls is an amazingly beautiful and accessible turn-based strategy game in development for XBLA, Windows 8, and Windows Phone. Yesterday we posted our Windows Phone impressions; today we follow up with an interview and in-depth demonstration of the XBLA game in action. (The color shifting in the interview video is due to fancy overhead lights on the show floor.)

Head past the break for more Skulls of the Shogun details and gameplay footage!

In the interview, developers Ben Vance and Borut Pfeifer filled us in on the history of the studio, the game’s development, and finally some choice Windows Phone details that you’re sure to enjoy. The second video features Ben walking us through the XBLA game’s controls and battle system. If you’re interested in learning what the mobile experience will be like, simply give it a watch – the controls will be different but otherwise Skulls on Windows Phone is super close to the console experience.

That’s all of our Skulls of the Shogun E3 coverage for now, but we’ll have lots more to share about the game as its late 2012 release draws near.

nice find! So can you pick up and play your game from console to phone if you buy both? Probably not, but like the idea. Looking forward to this game. I want different, meaning more unique titles like this for my phone.

That one guy is so twitchy, he doesn't like interviews it seems.
