AT&T Launches the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 today – Did you get yours?

Thanks! I've had a chance to play around with the phone a bit more and I'm very impressed so far. There are some things I still need to get figured out but I'm sure the WPCentral guides will come in handy.

I picked my red lumia 920 in the morning. Sadly the store in the city I live in didn't have any reds, so i drove to the next city over before work. Managed to get lost (damn you nokia drive for not recognizing at&t as a valid search!). Although I got there at 9:20 (haha I just realized the coincidence!) all but one of the red were sold, and there was one guy ahead of me who also wanted a red one.
I did manage to convince him to switch to the black, using the awesome looking high contrast theme. The girl at the counter gave me an early upgrade discount from my 900 also so I was able to save a 100 bucks. The contract extension isn't really significant to me since I am never giving up my godfathered unlimited data plan.
One unfortunate thing is that I already picked up the Samsung Ativ Smart PC from staples on the 26th and that doesn't have a working NFC antenna. NFC would be an awesome application for the lumia 920 and would have been great to pair it with the tablet also.
The wireless charger (I ordered in red) will ship out at a later date and that would be pretty cool to have. I am also thinking of getting the powermat for home, and keeping the nokia charger at work.

I ordered and ATT charged me for charging plate... i had to call back and ask them to credit my money back.. ATT is one greedy company

Due to some mishaps when ordering the charger, they decided to credit me more than the price of the charger as compensation. :D

Went to the Orland Park, IL location and they had the 920 in white and black and the 820 on display.  Signage was up for the 920 and 8x, but no 8x in store.  No chargers or accessories either.  The Ativ tablet was being set up, one for sale in inventory.  As usual, underwhelmed with AT&T sales staff.  Did see one rep greet a customer and see said she wanted to see the iPhone 4S, he asked if she was sure she wanted an iPhone and when she said no, he asked what would she be using the phone for.  After a few questions, the Windows phone were there first stop and his knowledge seemed basic, it took control not to interupt and soon they were on there way to other phones.  Biggest offense of the day...they put the security tags over the lens on the 920.  Couldn't believe they blocked out one of the biggest selling points of the phone, but then again AT&T stores do have a reputation (not a good one) to uphold.  On a funny note, when I asked one of the reps if they had the cyan is stock, he looked around like it was another phone model, not a color.

Line outside my store was about 15 people deep but no local stores in my area got any 920s shipped to them. About 90% of the people left and I presume the remaining got the 8x. Online ordering here I come.

Just to add to what I have already said, when I was battling with the AT&T reps online on the price, the supervisor who eventually gave me the$99+$36 upgrade deal called one store that sold out. The store I went to had only 8 black variants so its not a huge number but nice to hear nonetheless. And the store where I will get mine on Sunday apparantly has none until then, but the supervisor claimed they would have all color variants there. I won't believe it until I see it.

I am a Sprint subscriber who was bummed that they weren't going to carry the new Windows Phone 8 devices, opting to support the old iPhone tech. Well i'm finally taking a stand, deciding to bail on my Sprint contract 1yr through to sign up with ATT, who i've never been with before. Waiting for my pre-ordered Lumia 920!

Got mine. And stores only had black and white. Not a lot of people waiting in line but quick in and out. Offered free shipping for chargers that were free :)

I was in the AT&T store this morning checking out the weight and feel of the Lumia 920 (as I am still waiting for my pre-order to arrive) and I decided to check out the OIS. I launched the camera and found that the security device attached to the phone had a wire that ran over the camera lense. I slightly pulled the wire down to clear the lense path and shot a shaky video, during which I held down too vigorously on the wire and popped the whole security device off. ALARMS sounded and everyone in the store stared me down, and to go along with the whole charade, I jokingly pretended to pocket the device and bolt. Afterwards, when they had shut down the alarms, I decided to check the results of the shaky video test. The results were impressive, the video was shaky but did not lose focus of anything, the picture was still crisp. And when the alarm sounded in the video recording, an employee came sprinting at me thinking that I had only laughed off a failed first attempt and had serious plans to steal the device. All-in-all, it was an enjoyable experience.

AT&T Customer service SUCKS!
1.  Pre-ordered my Lumia 920 phone within minutes of the site going live (1:30am).
2.  Took Friday off of work to accept package.
3.  Found out Friday morning delivery changed from 9th to the 12th.
4.  Called AT&T, arranged to buy full price Lumia 920 at store and return the one that arrived 12th
5.  Went to store and the store manager blew me off and would not even look up the AT&T discussion with customer service
6.  Called AT&T back.  They appologized and blamed Sandy.  Washington DC was NOT effected by Sandy or the noreaster.  The shipping location, Memphis TN, was NOT effected by Sandy or the noreaster.
7.  Looking at the tracking record it was NOT shipped until the 8th and 2 day weekday delivery was chosen.  So there was no way in hell it was going to be delivered on time.  They should have overnighted it or at least provide weekend delivery.
8.  AT&T customer service sucks.  This left a very bad taste...I will definately be looking to move off of AT&T as soon as my contract is up...

Same exact thing happened to me then when I got mad and asked them to fix it they hung up on me twice and the third lady just told me I was stupid and I live in Louisiana where sandy had no issues I got surface on time through fedex

Got the Lumia 920 in black (that yellow looks awesome though). Amazingly fast, beautiful design. I think all the negative comments about the weight must have come from reviewers who use the iPhone 5 because coming from the 900 the difference isn't bad at all. ATT didn't have charging plates in, but they're sending me a free black one as soon as their shipment comes in.

Just checked the MS store in Virginia. They were receiving phones while I called. They said to check back later today or tomorrow when their stock is finalized. There may be hope for different colors.

I called my local AT&T store and they are already sold out! they only got 3 in (2 black and 1 cyan) and they are all sold already! I was pretty sad, but on the other hand i was pumped about the attention win8 is getting!

Walked into the AT&T store right after they opened, waited 45 minutes to be helped and then was told that they were out and MAY get some in later aroung 11:30. I called them up at 11:45 and they had no idea if they would even get some in. So I called a store in the next city over and they had a few.
Adding photos to a white 920 right now.
By the way, this site and the people on it are awesome. You guys and gals really helped me make an informed decision as to which phone to get next.

ATT Premiere should be called ATT Second Class Citizen.  Ordered 9am on Thursday and my order is still "Preorder Processing"... I guess that's better than "Attention" which is what it said for the first day and a half...

Just got my Cyan Nokia 920 today via FedEx (free 2-day shipping!). I was able to get the black wireless charging plate added to my order for free, but it was shipped separately and will probably arrive Monday or Tuesday.

got my 920 from the att store. Seems like theres a heavy push with everyone wearing windows 8 tshirts and asking if I have a windows computer, what phone I have...etc
Like it so far!

Just went into my local store to give the 920 a whirl before mine gets here Monday. Man that phone is a stunner. Yes it is hefty but feels like it's built for abuse. The store I went to in Greeley Colorado had some black phones, red, and white.

I got mine delivered today - it's waiting for me when I get home from work. The charging plate is shipped and should show up Monday.
I'm so excited!

I ordered at 9:10PM PST on Tuesday November 6th. My phone finally shipped out yesterday (November 8th) and I'm only getting it on Monday next week (November 12). I'm a little upset that I was probably amongst the first to order and I'm not getting my phone today. I ordered a white Lumia 920.

Yea same here and att refused to let me pick up in the store or cancel or receive credit, as soon as it was shipped they changed the date on me I could have got one in the store sooner

I went in to the first AT&T store when then opened..no line, but no black 920 either.  They only had the white one, so I decided to try another AT&T store.
This one did have to queue.
The saleslady said they had a line outside today when they had opened, and nearly everyone comming in has been requesting the Lumia 920.
They did not have the charge plates, but told me to call her next week.

Yay!  Windows 8 Lumia 920!

I'm upgrading from a Samsung Focus. I knew I wanted to get in bed with Nokia (the Focus always felt very weak and plastic-y) so I preordered on Wednesday right away (red!). As of this morning it was still "Processing," so I canceled it and walked the 5 blocks or so to the AT&T location near my apartment in Manhattan.
The place was swamped, but it didn't seem like more than 1 or 2 people were interested in the Lumia 920 besides myself. While I waited I was able to play with the display unit. This put my concerns to rest about all the issues with bulkiness and weight. Yes it's a big phone, no it doesn't feel disproporitonately heavy.
The reps were somewhat knowlegable about the phone. I had to specifically mention the free wireless-charger to them, but they were able to add it and have it shipped to my apartment (it's out of stock). One major snafu I encountered was my preorder had renewed my contract. Thankfully the in-store rep was able to resolve that issue so I could get the reduced price on the phone. The whole process took about 45 mins to an hour.
Very happy with the phone so far. I'm looking forward to putting the LTE through it's paces.

Went to downtown Denver store, got the last 920 (black). They didn't know about the free charging plate, but now they do.  It will ship to me. The phone is awesome, doesn't feel that heavy to me. And a bonus, Denver is now 4g as of a couple of days ago!

I went to a store in the mall which was 15 miles from my work, there were 6 people ahead of me and the wait was over an hour. I couldn't wait for long, as I was skipping work to get this phone. I went to work at 9:00 and slipped out to get this baby just after 10:00.
While waiting, I checked for any other stores near by and found one less than 3 miles. I called them to check if they had any in stock.. The guys said they have 2 in Black. I wanted to get a Black for myself and Red for my wife. I thought, my wife can wait... and I went the other store. It really took a while for me to idenitify the store as store was really battered by Hurricane Sandy... they had their windows broken and wooded up and stuff, the AT&T sign was broken as well. If you actually look at the store, you wouldn't even think it was operating.
So obviously there was no one there ahead of me. I was in and out in about 15 mins with my new Black Nokia Lumia 920 :)

NOKIA Lumia 920 is by far the BEST phone I've used. Gret job Nokia and Microsoft. Not so much AT&T, you really messed up the launch.

I was able to get the Lumia 920 for $99 and my upgrade wasn't available. The assistant said they were running a promotion for their Wireless Home Phone. Simply try it for two weeks and return it if you want. No strings attached. Awesome!

Yes of course I did! Just picked up a black one for meself!... Wireless charging plate will come in mail..

I bought my Lumia 920 outright today, and I absoluteluy love it. The screen is bright, I love the new Live Tile sizes, and I can't wait to see what great things Microsoft and its partners will be able to do with the hardware and software!

Yeah Got mine today but they gave me the wrong color!!! Damn it! Problem is it's a corporate account so I have to wait for them to let me know what I can do!

I went in, thinking of buying a Lumia for full price, off contract, to use as a media player / Zune (I already have an SGS3 for a phone, and happy with it), and the the sales rep stated that they can only sell them with a phone number attached, on a new contract or upgrade.
Kinda bites.  I guess I'm forced into ebay or the second hand market.

Does anyone know if I purchase off contract, the phone can be used with another carrier?  Would the off contract phone be unlocked?  Could I put my T-Mobile Sim in the phone?

Went to a corporate store right when they opened @ 9 am EST.  I had previously been in contact w/ a sales rep who told me they would have black, red, and white available today.  Waited half an hour in line and finally got to my rep.  He says, "Let em go in the back and grab your white Lumia 920".  My mind is racing in anticipation.  Seconds turn into minutes, where is this guy; I'm thinking to myself.  He finally returns to his perch about ten minutes later empty handed, immediatley my heart sinks.  "Looks like we only have three black units in stock", he says apologetically.  My heart sinks and my gut clenches as if I were just punched by Tyson.  He says, "I can order if for you right now and have it in three to five days".  It took all of my ninja calmness training to not grab him by the stupid iPad sling he and his cohorts were wearing and throw him through the front window (Which was barren of any type of Windows Phone 8 branding).  I walked out empty handed and broken hearted.
@ this point I'm an hour late for work (I notified my boss previously of my late arrival), and I no longer have a phone in working order as my first gen Surround had just given up the ghost this past Tuesday.  I then remembered there's another store that I haven't frequented because of it being located inside of the local mall.  It was worth a shot.
I arrive and am first in line as they open the gate (This store opens an hour later than the first store i went to).  The unfamiliar sales rep is as nice as pie and queries how she can help me today.  I blurt out, "Lumia 920 white!"  She grins and says, "Let me check my stock, I think we got a few last night".  My prospects are now looking upwards, but I remain cautious; holding my spot in line like a lion guarding a fresh kill.  She returns from the abyss of the stock room holding a white and orange box w/ the holy grail of all devices located inside it.  My Nokia Lumia 920 has arrived and is being booted and activated as I watch anxiously.  "Hmmmmm...." she sighs.  "It seems to be taking longer than usual to activate", she states.  Another who had arrived behind me has since left the store w/ his new red NL 920.  I start to sweat.  Finally, it boots and activates properly.  I leave the store on clous nine.  Get into the car and start removing the AT&T crapware form the app list when it freezes up on me.  AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  I go back in and she has no hesitation in replacing the unit for me.  I now have a fully functional Nokia Lumia 920 and my world is whole once more.  I finally made it to work @ 11:30, LOL.

I pre-ordered mine that was promised delivery for today...didn't happen, so went to local store and and picked up my black 920. Going to refuse delivery on the other one on Monday. Haven't had much time to play with it but I like it so far.

I picked up 2...one for each my wife and I.
I was at the store 30 minutes before opening and glad I was.  They got 5 phones in...2 were put on display, the other 3 were gone immediately with people left wanting!
I haven't got to play much...had t get back to work after my "Appointment" but I will be up late playing tonight!!!
North Canton, OH at the Strip

I'm trying to see the Nokia and HTC devices side by side to make the final deision.  I like the features and engineering of the Nokia but I like the size and weight of the HTC.  I've hit two AT&T stores today (before noon) and they were all sold out of everything besdies the Nokia 820.

got a 920 with my upgrade! but, sadly, according to the employee who helped me at the state street at&t store in chicago, there are no cyan models in the entire chicago area (including suburbs!). i had to get mine shipped to me... there are black, white, and red models available. can't wait to get my hands on it!

Tucson, AZ - My local store opened at 10am.  I took my lunch break from work to stop and get my Red Lumia 920.  When I got there, there were about 5 people lined up outside so I was hoping they were there for something else.  When we got in, a couple people were there for the Note 2 and the others just needed random help.  I was the first one to pick up a Lumia 920.  Damn this thing is beautiful.  They didn't have their wireless charges in, but they ordered one for me to be shipped to my home for free.  Can't complain about that.  Goodbye Android.

Finally updated my status on AT&T, backordered :( Oh well, thankfully Im a patient man, one more week with a blackberry wont hurt that bad...

Bought my Lumia 920 this morning! They did only have the red, white and black in store. No cyan or yellow.  Heath, Ohio store was packed and selling wps like hotcakes!    :)  Oh, and I LOVE MY 920!!!!!!! EEK! Ps, having google mail syncing problems if anyone comes across a solution please send a message :) thank you!

Of the 3 Nokia 920's my local AT&T store had, 2 had dead batteries and the third was almost dead....someone had turned on internet sharing on it...sabotage by Apple fans or do I need a tinfoil hat? The 8X had a spot, but actual phone was missing.

Got the only red 920 in my mall ATT store!  Also, a iphone user was upgrading to a 920 as well!  :)

Best upgrade story ever:

Went to the ATT store and was told i'm eligible for an upgrade by 06/2013 and that the store manager can't do anything to pull ahead my upgrade. The cust. rep. advised me to call ATT and see if customer service can do anything for me.
I called and and explained that my last upgrade was from a Focus to the Titan, and that the Titan had such horrible reception and speaker/mic issues that I bought a Titan II out-of-pocket at full price just to make up for it. I asked if they could accomodate me on pricing.

The customer service rep went above and beyond my expectations. She gave me the Lumia 920 FOR FREE, plus wireless charger, FREE overnight shipping AND waived the upgrade fee. All I had to do was extend my contract.

I'm expecting my Red Lumia 920 on Monday. Thank you ATT for your excellent service! I know those are rare words to hear.

For those that pre-ordered, cancelled because you forgot to add the charger, pre-ordered again, and now if your status says "processing" call to make sure your order was not cancelled. I pre-ordered two phones when they became available, but because I did not manually add the chargers, I cancelled online and ordered again with the chargers. Little did I know this would turn out to be a massive headache. I later received a cancellation notice for one of the phones, but not the other. When I check online, they both still say processing, but in fact they both were cancelled.
Arrived 5 mins after the store was opened. 6 people ahead of me (not sure what they were ordering), but when it came my turn, the white 920 was sold out, 1 red left, some blacks left. Half of the customers at the store were looking/talking about the Lumia 920. No special displays though, but they were all wearing blue Windows 8 shirts. The Sumsung Ativ Windows 8 tablet was blue screened so I fixed that for them. The Lumias on display were not turned on, and the icons were in disarray - so I fixed that, and put the white one in high-contrast mode which seemed to catch the eye of a few people. The 820 was pending an update, so I updated for them. Downloaded some lenses for the cameras as they only had the bing lens loaded.
So ordered a cyan for myself, and white for my wife. Will be the longest 3 to 5 business days. Shipping via fedex - who never rings the doorbell.

Went to an ATT store during lunch today in Olathe, Kansas City. They have limited qty of red, white and black in stock.  They also have a working black and white demo on display.  The black is nice, but the glossy white feels and looks great! That would be my pick. Just not sure how scratch resistent this glossy polycarb will be, especially for 20-month use.  The very knowledgeable rep recommended the Zagg front & back screen protector.
My Sprint contract expires mid December. He said I can get the Lumia today, but will have to put a temporary phone# on it to activate in order to get the $99 price today. Once I activate, they start charging monthly rate.  So I just have to be patient and wait a month, and hope they still have the free wireless charging plate promo then.
Overall, a great experience trying the phone and speaking to the rep.  I'm sold!

ordered a cyan 920. ATT's premier online system is a mess. I am eligible for upgrade but the price for 920 is $199 on the checkout page no matter how many different ways I tried.  Finally I have to call in multiple times to get a $100 account credit and place the order.
I started the pre-order as soon as it was open, but end up placing the order 10 hours later. Now it will be delivered Monday instead of today. I am mad....

Went to AT&T online store for cyan Lumia 920...  "You are eligible for a device upgrade at a discounted price.  Upgrade now."  Sweet.

*presses Upgrade now link*

"Were (sic) sorry, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later."

*selects checkbox for my phone, presses Upgrade button*

"Only "No-Commitment" phones available to order at full retail price."

*Emails AT&T*...

"Well, you are eligible for an upgrade discount.  We don't know why you can't online... You should call customer service."

*Calls customer service.*  "Please hold..."

Not quite AT&T, as I live in the UK, but I got myself a nice shiny new Nokia 920 (Black), as an upgrade from Orange 3G to EE4G.

I got the phone at Phones4U, where strangely they were selling the White 920 as 4G, and the Black as 3G only. I insisted I wanted a black 920 on the 4G network, and that's what I managed to walk away with :-)

All set up now. Very happy!
Glenn

Technically I should have gotten my cyan 920 today the I preordered, literally minutes after preorderes started, but ATT screwed me and didnt ship mine to yesterday. It wont be arriving until Monday. Needless to say I am pissed, as I know others that ordered theirs up to 12 hours after me will be getting theirs today. For some reason my was stuck processing for 36 damn hours before it shipped. If stores actually had cyan, I would have never preordered. Failure of a launch in my opinion.

I went to an ATT store around the corner, asked for the "new Nokia" and after a blank stare, she finally said "oh, the 920?" Then she told me that they don't have it yet and don't know when to expect it - maybe in a few days. They ordered 5 for their 10 stores and she's not sure if they'll get one of those 5!! Unreal.
Then she suggested I go to a corporate store, and they did have the black and white. While the rep was just getting his hands on it the first time, he really liked  the phone and was very helpful. He's an Android user (Iphone hater) but likes the Win8 OS. I haven't gotten one yet because I want to see the different colors before I buy it. I guess I'll have to go to the MS Store.

I got mine in the mail few minutes ago. It came with a busted simcard. I'll have to take it to an ATT store. I tried to use Windows Phone PC interface for uploading some music. The application is sad, really. I don't understand what was wrong with Zune. All they had to do change the name of the application. Are there any alternatives to Windows Phone PC app?

I went to the ATT store to buy a 920 right as they opened.  There was one other person waiting to get in as well.  When asked about the phones, they didn't even have them out on display yet.  They mentioned the shipment didn't come in until late last night.  After looking at the phone I spent a long time trying to figure out which color to get (RED WHITE BLACK)  I decided on the black.  All the employees had bluw Windows phone 8 shirts on, I asked one of the salesmen, have they trained them on these new devices and he said no.  He mentioned they got trained months ago (Mango I assume).  When asked about the free charging plate the salemen didn't know what we were talking about.  The manager was able to find the sales code for the free charging plate, but they have not recieved any yet.  They said they were going to ship the charging plate to my house.

I first visited an AT&T store to copmare the 920 and 8X so I could decide which to get. Unfortunately they only had the 920 and they said they wouldn't get the 8X until next week. Wtf????? Well I started talking to the rep that was showing me the 920 (I played dumb about WP) and it seemed like she knew what she was talking about. Not as much as I would've liked, btu it's better than before. She also told me the Lumia 920 was selling really well and they only had one left when I went in at about 11:30am. So then I went to the Best Buy that was across the street to see if they had both. They only had the 8X and not the 920 (what are the chances?). The two guys there really knew a lot about WP. Both were WP users since pretty much the beginning. One had a Focus while the other had the Surround. They were really stoked about the new WP8 devices. I was a bit bummed I couldn't compare both phones side by side, but at least I got to see both in person and use both of them.

I was hoping to get an 8X around January\February , but with other things going in my life at the moment, I might pass

Sure did and its awesome, the ATT store did not have the charging plate in stock, so ordered one and shipped it to me.  Now wish Nokia had the gel case like my 900 had for this device, for just a little added protection.

Bought 2 black 920's at ATT in far Nor-Cal and the JBL Power Up in Black. Black was only color available for both.
No charging plate, the employees were putting on blue windows 8 shirts as one installed the display 920 on the rack. No signage for wp8 in store or on windows. They said they didn't get any HTC8x in either.
Sales rep I talked to was the same one I saw about the 900, when it was released he was store rep with one to try out before they got it. Since I didn't buy 900 I felt obliged to get 920 from him. We both thought it was odd that they didn't get one a day or two before to try out like with the 900.
I knew more about the phone than anyone else in the store and I don't know much but what I've read on here.
Very solid phone so far and sound quality from the JBL Power up is great look forward to getting  smaller wireless one asap.

Lastly,to my fellow HTC ARRIVE owners,it cost me $40.00 to ETF my Sprint account after 9 yrs and it felt awesome telling them the reason I was leaving was due to sprint CHOOSING not to support WP.
I told them they wouldn't support 7.5 updates and had EOL'd the Arrive before 2yrs, the rep had the nerve to say that nowhere in the contract I signed did it say they would support phone or updates and no updates because their techs are supposedly "still testing Tango to see if it's safe for their network" = BS
I said thanks for the clarity now I'm cancelling both lines (my Arrive, her EVO shift,$40+70 ETF) and let me tell you fellow sprint owners the rates at ATT are no different than sprint,if anything the $10 smartphone charge sprint charges isnt worth it where I live won't see sprint 4g/lte for 2yrs but ATT's network and speeds so far on my Lumia are superb.time will tell but very happy for now even if I have to wait for my 2(free) charging pads

I just picked up my glossy red lumia 920. Awesome phone! Has anyone else experienced Kid's Corner asking for your password when you try to unlock it? I thought it was supposed to unlock automatically, no password required.

Went to the AT&T store in Fenton, MO and they had black and white 920s and black 820s.  They didn't have any HTC 8x's in stock.  They also knew about the free charging pad.  I wish they had a Cyan 920 for me to look at too.  The 820 is a great looking phone too and I think will be a good replacement for my wife's Quantum.  I then went down the street and Best Buy had a demo 8X locked in their cabinet for me to look at.  I gotta say the HTC 8x has a great 'feel' to it, too bad it's overpriced and HTC did very little to wow me with their support of the Titan that I've had the last year... I'm going to see if there are cyber Saturday deals again this year (I got my Titan for a penny!).  I can't imagine them discounting the 920 more than it already is, but you never know...

I just got mine at 12:15pm PT.  Wow, I am so impressed so far.  The Cyan matt finish feels different than the matt Lumia 900 I have.  Almost like having a soft finishing touch.  I dont recall my lumia 900 feeling like this at all.  What a screen, love the beveled glass!

Ordered mine on the 7th from the store... My order is still pending.  Called to check on it... they have no clue.  So I'm going back to the store today to cancel my order and hopefully pick the phone up.
Very not happy right now.  Very not happy.

THE WORST LAUNCH i HAVE SEEN FOR ANY PHONE.
Went to 4 At&t stores and only one had the black 920 on display which was low on battery. No sales reps cared or were enthusiastic about any windows phone products. Asked for different colors and every store they told me I can only see the black one because the red & white are in the box and we can't open it. I asked when all colors would be on display, "WE WILL ONLY HAVE BLACK ON DISPLAY".  I was not allowed to look at the other colors unless I was committing to purchase. With this type of attitude and launch WP has no hope of large market share. i am amazed and disgusted that  on the day of the launch stores are ill prepared. All the employees are walking around with windows phone shirts but none of them cared about this OS at all.  Someone needs to wake up Microsoft and its partners to do some serious work at the ground level. NOKIA you are doomed if you allow this. If At&t is not serious about your flagship phone then go to a different carrier to see if they will get you better results and enthusiasm at launch. Your last shot at survival is at stake.

Got to my local at&t 30 min early with two people already there. One was getting a 8X the other a red 920. I went with black and i am loving everything about it. The curved glass feels great and the phone itself feels good to hold. I am coming from an iPhone to my first windows phone.

AT&T in NJ only had black 920s. I bought the second to last one. No chargers but they ordered it and are having it shipped to my house. Very good experience overall, and much better than when I tried to buy my wife's WP7.5 phone a year ago when they kept trying to talk me out of it. This time, the guy behind the counter was enthusiastic and actually owned a 900.

Has anyone seen an HTC 8x?  Every store I called today said that it didn't launch today. Just the 920/820, which barely launched.  I don't call the majority of online order getting backordered or canceled and stores getting 2-4 phones, with most not getting any, an actual launch.

Can't find the 8X anywhere.  Every AT&T store in Charlotte, NC says they did not get any shipments of them.  That's a pretty poor launch day outcome.

I got mine this morning right after the doors opened.  The hardware optical image stabilization is very good for video.  I was impressed with the very first video I took.    Phone feels fantastic in hand too.  Can't wait to get this puppy loaded up and fuly functional!

Went to AT&T store and had worst experience waiting for someone to acknowledge me for about 30min, why? They were busy setting up the windows phone 8 posters/advertisements. A man in front of me got the last 920 in the store
:( luckily my local best buy store had 3 in stock and I got one. Both stores only had black. Typing this on a 900, will take a good one hr of no interruptions to set up my 920, will let you all know how the Nokia religious experience goes
:-D

I just went to an at&t store and played with the 920 and 8x. Do not worry about the heaviness of the 920, it is overblown. That phone is really really nice, and for the price its a no-brainer for most people. The best things about the 8x is the body, its lighter, and it feels great in your hand. U will love the way the polycarbonate feels on the 8x. I might get the red 8x because I want to try something different this time. compared to the 920 and that beautiful screen, I downgrading!!

Waited 2 hours in line to get the 920, but ended up with a defective phone that has terrible backlight bleed. Going to have to get an exchange tomorrow... very disappointed at the moment

(am a Microsoft employee)

my wife picked up the only red 920 they had in stock at one of the largest at&t stores in the Phoenix area at opening this morning. And no charging plate like everyone else...though they will be mailing it directly to us. I already have a black 920 and bought the energizer qi dual wireless plate for my office, working great!

I got mine in San Francisco. Got the black one! They don't have the white one, although I was looking forward for the Gray color, but then realized that it won't be available in the US market, Gray color is only for International market.
Also a tip...
1) You can get the Pay As You Go, if you are happy to pay $450 upfront!
2) You can get Free Wireless Charger ONLY if you signup for 2-Year Contract, not the "month to month" post-paid OR pre-paid.
However you can get the free wireless charger via Nokia by visiting http://www.nokiafreecharger.com/pages/holding

I ordered online.  Off contract (month to month) and got the free charger. The stores are always full of crap.

Hello,  Just wondering what was you motivation for buying it off contract?  Can you use the phone with another carrier besides AT&T?  Does the math work out that buying the device off contract will save money over time?

My motivation is that I like Hardware. I don't have loyalty to a carrier. If Verizon in 6 months comes out with a bad ass phone that I have to have, I can get it and jump ship and I don't have to worry about termination fees.

Got the 920 two hours ago...was the first one too. Funny because when the TITAN came out, I was the first one in that store to buy one of those also. I'm developing a pattern, lol.

My first windows phone. Got mine in the morning, Red. Awesome. Downloaded wpcentral app. good job guys. nice app. In the process of learning how to use. constantly amazed by how smooth this phone is. Best tech purchase I made after my XBOX..

Went to the largest AT&T store in my town right before opening, the staff was there having a training on WP8 and they all had on thier little blue Windows 8 shirts but the staff was cluless. The sales person even tried to get me to buy an android phone, not very hard mind you, but he did question why I wanted a windows phone. They had 3 red in stock and the black ones weren't even recieved from the day before so I had to wait.
While I waited I had to teach the staff there about the cool features of WP like deep linking and how searching can be a deeply integrated experiance... it was like I was M coming down from the mount with the word of god... what do they teach them at these trainings? I felt like donating my time to teach them about thier own product.
I did end up going home with 2 Black 920's and the charging pads on order for 198.98 (no sales tax here) and they bought my old focus gen 1's for $46 which helped offset the activation fees.

Picked up my L920 first thing this morning at store opening. Only black, white, and red in the store, I chose red. There was no free chargers in the store but I was able to get one mailed to my house for free. The customer service rep was real good with the transaction and even had a L900 himself. Spent the day reloading apps, customizing, and getting all my settings how I light them. Downloaded Angry Birds Star Wars to play tonight. Happy happy!

Just picked up a Lumia 820!  I have a question, does anybody know if Navigon is going to update their GPS for Windows Phone 8, I did not know it would not work on the new phone and am not happy.  I have played with Nokia Maps and do not like the fact that it is not linked to your contacts like Navigon is.  You have to search for every address instead of just opening contacts.
Besides that the phone and OS seem great, can't wait to pop a 64GB card in!

Got mine from Microsoft Retail in Century City (Los Angeles), CA. They have red, black and cyan; I got red. Off-contract was 404.10 before taxes (I work at the store and get 10% discount).

I picked up a Black 920 at my Local AT&T store. They had one black and one red left in stock and the glossy red was a little too bright for me. They also had one blue HTC 8X in store but there were none on display, just the 820 and 920.
My store did not have wireless charging mats shipped to them but they are expecting a shipment in the next few days and will call me when they come in to go pick mine up.

Store Location: Cincinnati, OH
Stock:
1 Red and 1 Black 920
'Plenty' of black 820's
1 Blue HTC 8X (No Display Models)
No Wireless Charging Mats until next week.

Got mine today!  Preordered online Wednesday morning:-)  Downside is I did not receive a free charger plate.  The rep told me the limited offer must have run out before I ordered.  But, he did wave my $37 activation fee, so that helps:-)  Now I can go by one at a steep discount!

i bought 3 920, black, yellow and red.  Waiting on the yellow and red to be shipped.  Also got a microcell and att hone phone, all seem to work fine.

I am disgusted with AT&T. I pre-ordered back on the 7th as a "Premier" account and I ordered off-contract. Two days later I have yet to receive it, the order is still "processing" and my card is charged. Yet no one in customer service (out of the 7 times we spoke) knows what is going on. SO they "pushed" my order through to now have a second charge on my credit card at full price and it's still only processing. Everytime I spoke to someone they said I would get an email within the air with the updated status. I have yet to receive any email at all. I don't mind waiting for a phone but this is F**King bulls**t. Each time I speak to a rep no one knows what the previous rep did or what "system" to check for the status. And who the hell do we complain to? All it will do is fall on deaf ears. All they care about is new customers. F**K their loyal customer base. This is disgusting.

Just got my phone from the mail carrier. I actually violated federal law by going into the back area of the mailroom to talk to my postlady. She wasn't too pleased, lol! :) Longtime Verizon customer, excited for something new.

got mine today! Called at 10am and had the manager hold a white one for me. There was a line waiting for them. I got there at 11am and they only had 2 black ones left. One guy came in looking for one as I picked mine up. Its a great phone, just real wide. I'm very happy though its a great phone, saw the 8x at. Best buy. Meh, great size though.

Yep! Lumia 920, I went to the store right before it opened up. I was the first in the store to get the Lumia 920 when all others were busy getting Galaxy Note 2. :] I had such hard time choosing between white and black, but went with matte black. I'm now playing around with the phone customizing and stuff. Loving it!

Someone should let Nokia and Microsoft know what's going on at the At&t stores. And with their inventory or the lack of.

Ordered my Matte Black on Wednesday and it was delivered today - can't wait to open it!  I was hoping for the grey but we all know the story of that ...  !!!!!!!!!!

I was so excited to get a Lumia 920 today.  I tried to call my local AT&T store (Lima, OH - about an hour away from home) the last couple of days, to make sure they would have it in.  Unfortunately their phones do not seem to work.  So I left for work extra early today so I could make it to the store and back before work.  When I first got to the store, I was happy to see Lumia 920 signs posted in the windows.  I go in, find the Nokia, but they are still the dummy phones.  I ask the sales agent if they have these in, he says they should be in later today yet.  Im a little bummed, but I still have an hour before I have to head to work.  I do a couple of other things in town, then head back to the AT&T store.  The sales rep seems surprised to see me so soon.  I ask if he knows about what time they would get the phones in.  He asks another sales rep who says the phones dont come out until Nov 11th.  I tell him they came out today, but hes for certain they dont come out until the 11th, but you can preorder them online.  Ugggg, why do things that should be easy, have to be so hard???  So no Lumia 920 for me, and now I dont really know if I want one after such a disappointing experience.

Sounds about right for a state that decided the election for Obama. I can't beleive ya'll voted another 4 years of this sh!t. Pitiful.

Yeah really, why don't YOU WAKE THE HELL UP? Call me in 4 years and let me know how wise your choice was... You all will probably still be blambing Bush.  You people are naive. 15+ T R I L L I O N  (That's 15 Thousand Billion for those that can't comprehend that much) in debt, with no budget from this administration since he's been in office. Over a trillion in defecit speding EVERY year, what do you think the money that the governemt spends is monopoly money? No it's real and it comes from real hard working TAX PAYERS!!!! Our children and grandchildren are hosed with another 4 years of this MADNESS! WAKE THE F*CK UP MAN - HERE WE COME GREECE!!!!!!

Live from Augusta, GA: "I got my glossy RED Lumia 920 this morning!  I was the first to purchase the Lumia 920 at the AT&T store near the Augusta Mall.  There are only 2 AT&T stores in Augusta.  The other one is in Evans.  They only had one red one, and I got it!  Customer service was great, all employees were wearing Windows Phone 8 t-shirts, all of them were ignorant of the details of Windows 8, oh and I asked about the wireless charging pad after-the-fact and the retail sales consultant called me back, stated it was an online promotion, consulted with his manager, and they got one ordered for me to be sent to my mailing address.  Not a bad deal and most importantly, they kept it professional.  Did I mention that all the employees were ignorant of windows 8 and windows phone 8?  Also, the security wire that is attached to the back of the display lumia 920s blocked the awesome camera in order to take example pictures.  Who is running the show there?  I had to help them out with that.  There is no love for Windows Phone 8 in the real world.  Someone, please educate them!

Called 3 local AT&T stores.  All three had phones available.  All three only got Black Red and White phones.  Two of the three were out of Red and one of the three were our of white.
I was wanting a grey phone, but I will settle for white.  My wife will be dissapointed to find out that if she wants her yellow one, she has to have it ordered! :P

I was on the fence for a while, I've been Android for years. I decided to stop by a local AT&T store and they had black 920's in stock...I pulled the trigger...This phone has 14 days to wow me or it's going back...

Ordered mine wednesday but called today because it said it was still processing. They said whoops sorry this usually doesnt happen but it forgot to do a few steps then he proceded to ask me if i have a windows phone before, if i connected it to xbox and you ordered it off contract right? After i answered these he said ok we are done but sorry to inform you that your phone will not be shipped out till monday i ordered the red and hoped to gt it today but oh well patience is a virtue.

Went to ATT over lunch--first store only had one 920 left in red.  Second store had black, white and red.  Surprisingly, after some prompting someone within earshot said that one 8X had come in.  Lo and behold, they had it and unboxed it so I could get a comparison (without turning it on).  I originally loved the 8X when it was announced, but then settled on the 920 for all its obvious advantages (especially after the price was announced).  Now I'm reconsidering but still leaning toward the 920.  The 8X is pretty incredible if you are looking at form factor issues.  It's making me wonder whether I can get by with 16GB.  The phone just disappears into your palm.  The 920 is very ergonomic for its size, but it is a behemoth.  It has nothing to do with working out in the gym--the 920 is substantially bulkier and heavier, so the two experiences are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.  I'm gonna go back later and I'll still probably get the 920 but comparing both of them in each palm slowed down my decision-making just a bit.

American 920 is cheapest one in the world. May I know can you unlock it easily? Does AT&T 920 support WCDMA? Thanks.

My white one will not be here until Monday, finally got a tracking number yesterday, and it was ordered on Wednesday. Poppycock!

I went to Local AT&T store at 12noon looking for Lumia 920. At the entrance there was banner of HTC 8x hanging. Inside the store another banner of HTC 8x. Then started looking for Handsets on display. After looking very hard couldn't find any Windows Phone on display. Then I asked the representative about Lumia 920. They said they have 820 not 920. They said they haven't set up the display yet for 820 or the HTC 8x. As for 920 they were not sure when they are going to get the stock. I returned disappointed. I'll call other stores before going there.

There was about 30 people lined up at the store here in Irving Tx, had White/Black/Red.  Red sold out first, other then that smooth sailing.

Got my 920 this morning. I had a very good experience in the store. They gave me some relief on the charge for early termination of my 900. They also threw in the charger without me asking AND I could pick any color I wanted, unlike online where the only choice is black.
This is a "corporate" store. It's in Charlottesville, Va. I have never had a bad experience there. I had Big Red before and I don't think I ever had a good experience with them EVER!
BTW - the Panarama camera app is fantastic! I haven't had a chance to check everything else out yet.

Pre-ordered Wed @4am... Charger (black) "in transit" from Ft Worth, TX... Red Lumia 920 also in transit, but from Memphis, TN... and only "arrived at FedEx location" - both estimated delivery Mon 11/12/12 4:40pm - strange everyone's experience is different... When I first ordered early Wed morn online it said I would GET the phone/charger on Friday (today)! I've been off for a week, and tomorrow Sat is my birthday... oh well :( At least I don't go back to work till Tues, so I'll have ONE evening to play with my phone at the very end of my vacation. But I'm getting my red Lumia 920!

Received mine just before lunch!  Phone is amazing, actually feels solid and good compared to my Focus Flash.  Setup went smooth.  Hard to keep from playing with it at work!

I went to my forst store here in CA when they opened. No line. They only had the 820. They called another local store and had them "hold' one for me. I got there and there was some confusion about whether they had any 920s in black. Turns out the confusion came from the fact that the model # has 820 in it but elsewhere on the box it is identified as a 920.
I got the last black model. The next guy in line wanted the same. He decided to order it with the help of the staff.
The charging platform is being ordered. The promo paperwork in the hands of the staff says only the black one is available for free but they gave me choice of a black or white one.
I am coming from the iphone to this so I am enjoying learning about all the stuff this can do. I also noticed a few little things that would be nice if they the option to do. Little thigs like showing battery %, showing what my signal strentgh is.
So far I'm liking it.

Hi, I had the same feelings about the battery, network status indicators when I switched from iPhone to L900 in April, but after a week of usage I started liking the WP style. It makes sense as you don't have to see that information all the time. And if you do want to see it, just swipe down from the top to see the status indicators. Welcome to Windows Phone!

Went to get a Lumia 920 in white this morning at my local AT&T store (Northern Virginia), as I'm playing with the phone and comparing it to my 900 (also white) a sales rep is talking to a costumer about the Galaxy Note II. The costumer then ask the rep about Windows Phone 8 devices, so the rep points him to the 920s on display (which I was still playing around with). The costumer then proceeds to ask the rep about the difference between the two and one of the questions was whether the camera was the same between the Galaxy Note II and the Lumia 920, the rep said yes but I couldn't hold my tongue and pointed out to the advantages the Lumia 920 has over the Galaxy Note II camera. I walk away and decide to get the device, so as I wait for a rep to help me with my order the guy whom was deciding between the Note II and the 920 decides to get the 920 in white and as the rep comes out with the box he tells the costumer ("found the last white 920 we had on stock")... I believe I shot myself on the foot with this one, so I guess I will have to wait till next because after further search no other AT&T store had the 920 in white stocked...

I picked up a Nokia 920 at the ATT store on 34th street in manhattan. They had a few black ones left and were out of white. They also had blue HTC 8Xs there but not on display. I liked the size and weight of the HTC more but paying $100 more for half the storage just wasn't worth it for me so I got the Nokia. First impressions are mostly good, its a little heavy but not terrible, it does work with mittens but seems to take a while to warm up to it. The old apps that are there work better and faster on the 920 then on my Samsung Focus S, however I have found that several apps that I often used are missing from the marketplace. I am an avid Spotify user since Zune music pass does not work on Macs, and Spotify is missing from the marketplace. Also Tunein Radio is missing as well, I dont use that quite as much as spotify but I did use it to listen to local AM radio stations, and FM stations if I wanted better quality. I was under the impression that all WP7 apps would work with WP8, if I had known spotify wouldnt work I would have waited. For now I have to carry both phones around with me to listen to music.
With that out of the way I will say Nokia Transit is awesome and its so nice to be able to get directions on my phone again!

Got my 920 black really good experience told the guy not yet ready for upgrade and online said iPhone early upgrade but he gave me an upgrade. Super busy in the store and all promoting windows 8 and windows phone 8 alot of reps told me they can't wait to get it.

Whooo Nokia Lumia 920 in white.  Now only if I could find out how to make the tiles black......hmmm.

This is confusing and the store reps that I speak to don't help.

I'm currently on Verizon, paying month by month because our contract ran out in September. We're switching to AT&T and I have been putting it off until the Lumia came out.
Seeing as how I want the yellow one, I'd have to order it. The guy told me I could order it in store and have it shipped to me. That's fine.
Service, though, he confused me with. So I'll ask here:
How does that work? Like, I'll still be using my Verizon phone, until I get my Lumia shipped, but I'll have AT&T service? Because the guy said I can't just order the phone without service, but if I order new service (while keeping my number), won't that cancel my Verizon one? He said I'll be able to use it until I bring the Lumia in and activate it.

I went to my local AT&T to check out the 8X and 920, but they didn't receive any 8X phones, and they were sold out of all of the 920's, so I guess I will have to wait before I can check both out at the same time.

Store: Lumia 920 in Red, Black and White. Black is soooo beautiful and elegant. No 8X.
Rep: very friendly and knowledgeable (I smelled WP fanboy lol). He showed me Cyan and Yellow mockups and said he'll get the Yellow himself. I asked about the glossy finish and scratches and he took out his keys and mauled the mockup and the scratches could be wiped out.
Phone: Doesn't feel heavy which makes me worry about the health of bloggers. Yellow is really, really glossy, but heck it will stand out so I'm going for it.

I got my White Lumia 920 this morning around 11:00 AM. It is very beautiful and not as heavy as the report said. and the Window phone 8 system is very easy to use, even for 4 years iphone user like me. But I have a problem, I tried to play the phone by using a fork like I saw in a youtube video, but the super sensitive screen wasn't working, anyone have same situation?

Check under Settings > Extra (if I remember correctly) there should be a setting for the high screen sensitivity.

Had a few problems porting my number over, but the very patient and helpful woman at the Massapequa, NY store totally hooked it up! She had one set aside for me and was totally awesome getting everything done. Ended up with black, which is the one I wanted :D The phone's an absolute beauty!

Stood in line for 3 hours at an AT&T store here today to get mine, they were super busy.  Ran out of everything but Black.  All in all, was't terrible, but people in the store took WAY too long to get things done.

I got a red 920 today!! She said they only had one in the store the other two colors were white glossy and black. This phone is pretty awesome!! Pics, Videos, quick, just sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) And it doesn't have that rattle my 900 had!!

Mine has the rattle.  It's JUST enough to drive me insane.  I love this phone minus that one thing.  I'm going to take it back and see about swapping it out.  Once I do that it will be the absolute 'picture' perfect phone.

Walked into MS store in San Jose to check out the 920 and not one WP8 is on display. What a sad way to launch a product. the old phones they have are all somewhere back in a corner and you really have to look for it to find the display. Very bad launch effort by MS and Nokia.

Rep tells me that they did not put them out yet is because couple of store reps ate getting trained on the product today and they got the phones in only this morning. No wonder WP has no market share. Not looking good so far.

Yep, exactly my thoughts. How can this platform gain market share if the marketing and retail strategy is a disaster?

Got my black 920, and man is this a beatiful phone...  I loved the 900, but this takes it to 11.  They didn't include my charging pad, though... Premier rep said it was "backordered" and that I should have it next week.  I'm glad I had an unused upgrade on my account!

Walked into Best Buy this morning and apparantly got the first one. The phone is definitely a beast and loving it thus far!

I preordered the Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 yesterday and called today to see if they could remove the charge for the wireless charging plate.  I was told I'd have to wait one or two billing cycles for the charge to be taken off.  I was also told that only those who ordered before yesterday would have their phone shipped this week.  Mine would not ship until 3-5 business days after ordering, which they informed me is the normal timeframe.  I guess I have to wait a week or two before I can post my experience with my phone.

Just got the red 920 and  I'm so pumped right now!  For anybody on the fence that is still thinking about getting this phone I would say to you, this is the best deal in tech right now.  For the few shortfalls this phone has it more than makes up for it with price and features.  I gave up a iphone 4 for this and I'm having a blast just listening to all the ringtones I've got.  Stereo speakers sound so much better than mono.  Duh.
Go get one!  (If you can find one)

Got a white 920 in Austin at the ATT store this afternoon, they had just been replenished after selling out of their morning stock.  Lots of traffic in the store on the 920 also.  Loving it, just wish the reinstaller app worked so I could easily port my Lumia 900 apps over.
$99 with no activation fee.

I got mine, but, this was a terrible launch for AT&T.
I, like many other fans here, waited up and placed my order as soon as I could on the 7th. After seeing no status updates until yesterday, I still held on to a shred of hope that it would arrive today but that was stomped out when I woke up this morning and saw that it was still in Memphis (I live in MD). I decided to just go to my local store and grab one, luckily I wanted a black one because that's all they have, and after getting charged and extra $30 for some reason I walked out with my phone - they're still trying to figure out where the $30 came from.
After all of that, I called AT&T and told them I'd have the one that is supposed to arrive here next week returned and happened to get a nice CSR who worked with me to figure out how they'd handle that since she didn't know. After a few minutes, she noted in my account that they need to accept the return and waive the $35 restocking fee.
Finally, a call to FedEx to ensure that the driver wouldn't leave the box on my doorstep without ringing the doorbell as they so frequesntly do so I could refuse the delivery. That guy took all of 30 seconds and came back to say they've taken care of it and the box won't even come to my house. Of course, I'm still watching that tracking number but it seems that everything is on track.
So, I have my 920 in black as I wanted but I'm out $30 for the time being and I've got that other one in limbo until AT&T confirms they've got it back and I see that cash back in my account.
Terrible launch for AT&T but the Lumia 920 is incredible :D They improved on a great phone.

Got my Red 920, and my wife's Cyan 920, but the charging plates will not arrive until Monday. So far so good in getting everything transferred over and set-up. Took a couple of pictures, rich colors, very nice.

I have my black 920 sitting here next to me. My free charging plate is coming in the mail. The corporate ATT store I visited in Tacoma was well stocked and the agent was better informed about WP8 than any previous ATT agents I've dealt with. i also got to see the Samsung Win 8 tablet they're pushing; it is pretty sweet. While I was there one other customer was giving the Lumia 920 a serious look, but didint buy anything and another customer just purchased some Galaxy device and couldnt find his email. Hee hee.

I went for the yellow on a possibility that they would stock it secretly, but no dice. I walked out with my Lumia 920! My mom let me take a picture of her with my Focus S and the display Lumia; the images on the Lumia FELT more natural and my mom gushed at the quality! Compare to the weight of the Focus S...no two ways, the Lumia was WAY heavier! But I like how the volume rocker, power button, and camera button were on the same side. I ended up with a Matte black color, but the temp case I'm using makes it look like the red one! Can't wait for the Defender case! It's confirmed to be coming.

Preordered my 920 Wednesday morning, paid for overnight shipping, got it this morning......and the camera won't open. At all.  It tries to open, screen goes black with camera controls on the bottom for less than a second, then it goes right back to the start screen.  Most excited I've ever been for a phone and the feature I'm most excited for doesn't even work. Tried hard resetting it but it didn't fix it. Any app that uses the camera won't work either.
Also, the phone arrived with the sim card inserted backwards. Yay. Haven't called AT&T yet but I'm really bummed out.

Fully charged and it won't work. I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps I can think of, AT&T tech support said it was most likely a hardware defect, and now they want to charge me for the replacement phone because they can't just send me a new one on "good faith." So I offered to send this one back first, and was told it's going to take about a month for it to be processed and get the replacement. Thinking about just returning the 920 and sticking with my Samsung Focus, which I have to go get a new sim card for because apparently when you activate a new device your old sim card can never be activated again. Wish I wouldn't have even bothered trying to upgrade.

I wanted the white Lumia 920. Checked this morning and there were only 2 stores around me that had it in stock in limited quantity. I went to one before 10 and got the 1st one. There was only one more left. I was concerned about the weight of the phone. When I first handled it, it was definitely heavier than my Samsung Focus. I got used to the weight within 10 minutes. It's no big deal. I had no problem with the thickness, looked the same as my Focus. I took a few pictures using the phone under different lighting condition. The picture quality was excellent. One more thing. I was charged only $50 (+ tax) at the store. I will be charged an additional $50 when the charging plate is shipped to me. So if AT&T don't ship it to me, I can buy one later.

Upgraded from an iPhone 3GS and loving it. Played with an iPhone 5 while at the store and was not impressed really; have just gotten bored with iOS.
Got the black model because I prefer the matte finish and they had no cyan models. Also, the complaints on some tech sites about the weight are ridiculous; it weighs just a little more than the 3GS.

I went to my local at&t store to find they had nothing but black.  Given the rep told me they only received two white and two red in addition to about thirty black ones.  He called around to another couple stores and found one red and one white at a store accross town.  I ran over there to find the red had already been sold.  Luckily the guy was still there so I got to look at it and turns out I wasn't so keen on it anyway.  I was hoping it was more of a dark red when in reality it's more of a orangish-red which I didn't care too much for.  So alas I ended with another white one which works for me.  Got all my apps re-installed and pics/music sync'd.  The desktop software really isn't nearly as complete as the Zune desktop software.  I hope they really spruce it up more as time goes by.  Thus far I'm really happy with the phone and it's performance.  Everything is noticeably faster then it was on the 900. :-)  Oh, they ordered the free wireless charger for me which will ship directly to me it would seem (they had none in stock locally nor any accesories aside from two bumper style cases which didn't appeal to me).  So I still need to find a case to my liking which seems scarce at the moment.

Haven't gotten mine yet (trying to decide on white or cyan). Got to wait on Radio Shack to stock them so I can get 20% off my monthly plan.

Literally called every AT&T store in Miami and not a single one had Cyan. There were a few white ones and a good amount of black ones. Was really hoping I'd get it today. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the apparently elusive Cyan?

Got a red one. Loooooove it. Store had plenty and I had to order the charging plate. Gonna see if Nokia will give another. Also... accessories were slim because of Sandy I imagine.

I picked up the black Lumia 920 this morning. After waiting thirty minutes in a queue I was brought up to the counter and they asked what color I was looking for. I was able to choose any color as long as it was black. After expecting to have to haggle, I discovered there was an upgrade on my account. So yay. After getting home and installing all my old apps from my Lumia 900, I remembered about the charging pad. I went back to the AT&T store and asked them about getting the free charging pad. They said I do rate a free one, but they didn't have any in stock. So, they lookup up my receipt from earlier and after confirming I bought the phone they ordered one for me. I should be receiving an email whenever it arrives at the store. I could of had it shipped to my apartment, but the mailman won't leave packages at my door. If I'm not home when the mail is delivered, he leaves a slip and makes me pick it up the next day which I hate.

Also, has anyone been able to find any apps that sync with Wallet?

Got myself a black one today which is the color I was hoping to find. I'm from Tucson Arizona and the only store nearby was listed as having none in stock. I had to call them to find out what they had in stock, and the first rep said nothing had arrived. Then I overheard someone say they just got a shipment in. I had to wait until they added the phones to inventory then on my lunch break I walked in and walked out 15 min later with the 920 and the free black wireless charger shipped (None were in stock). I asked the rep if anyone had called inquiring about the new Lumia devices, he said I was the only person that called. All the rep's had windows 8 shirts on, but the gentleman I dealt with was the only rep who knew what the phone even was (He actually has a 900 and is looking to get the 920 today after his shift is over).

First off, the 920's weight... its not heavy at all. And no, i don't lift bro!
Second, omygoodness is this thing NICE! The build quality is right up with the iPhone's, if not better.
Finally, its good to be back in a WP device, can't wait to see what dev's bring to the table (I hope to bring some apps down the road as well).

If any of you got burned by your pre-order, just start calling around. Chances are you can score one today and start off your weekend on a high note. I feel like this phone isn't getting the right amount of attention that it deserves. ATT needs to get there crap together, they have a horrible track record when it comes to releasing new products and educating employees. Is it really that hard to drop knowledge about an upcoming phone?

Update to my earlier post, I've been using the phone now all day, playing with the tiles, installing some aps, making some calls. I got to say that I love my 920. It is so fast and I haven't had an ap force close all day. Nor has my phone randomly reset. The phone feels light to me, but I'm coming from an HTC G2 which is a small brick. I like the size of the phone, it feels great in my hand. I love the display! It's so smoth and sensitive to my finger. The camera is awesome.

Back to my instore experience, they only had a few of the black and white colors and no charging plates. It will ship by next week. I saw 1 black on display for both the 820 and 920. HTC was missing. And all the reps had microsoft shirts on today. I was happy they didn't try to steer me to an andriod or iPhone, they knew about the 920 and the guy that sold me mine was very familiar with the system. He had a 900 he said. They even had the speakers to pair it with, but at $200, that was more then I could afford today.

The bigest problem I had today was with T-Mo. I ported my number and had to call in for the pin number. They tried to pawn a GIII on me and give me $10 discount a month. I told them I wanted a W8 phone. then they tried to talk me in to an 820 or 8x. Told them nope, want the 920. So stupid me, forgot to write down my account number before I left for my local corporate store. I called in from the store, and they refused to give me my account number. They knew why I guess.

I got my new Black Lumia 920. Reached the store at 10 AM, promptly at the opening time. The store was empty and the sales staff was loading demo software on the Lumia 920 demo units. They were all in Windows 8 T-Shirts. I upgraded my second line which was 1 year into the contract and they charged me 222.95 which included the device cost. After everything completed smoothly, the sales staff took a picture of me with them and said that i was their first customer of Windows 8 phone. I am a very happy and very proud owner of new Nokia Lumia 920.

So I preordered in the store on the 7th. They asked where I wanted it shipped. I said I wanted it asap so please let me pick it up in the store on Friday. So 3pm today rolls around and I call them asking if they came in. They got a shipment of black ones but not mine. I had a bad feeling about this so I went to the store. Sure enough they had some black ones in but not the black and cyan ones that I ordered. In fact mine hadn't shipped yet. The only way to get my phone today was to cancel the order and buy one in the store. Man do I love this phone! I'm typing on it now. Anyway my wife will just have to wait because apparently the store doesn't even know when they will get the cyan phone but with our preorder we should be among the first.

Picked up my Nokia Lumia 920 (black) today! I made sure to arrive before 10 AM at the store. There was no line, so I decided to spend another 20 minutes in the car. Once the 20 minutes were up, I got out and fonud 5 people waiting in line outside the store!! Luckily/Unfortunately, they were there to check out the phone, but not to buy. Once I entered, I inquired about the stock and they said they received a few yesterday, and a couple of them were on the display. Once I played around with the 920 for a bit, all doubts in my head were clear about going with 920 and not 8X (which they didnt have any in stock anyways). So, I requested the store agent to activate one for me. While waiting I inquired about the free wireless charging pad, and was told that it was online offer only. But then, I had my WPCentral app handy to bring up the article discussing this deal :). Once the agent was convinced, she was able to discount my phone for $50 and added in the charger for the same amount. As a customer, I am still happy. I was also informed that I was the first one to buy this phone in the store and they have only 5 more devices left! Good luck to rest of you folks!!

I preordered a yellow 920 yesterday. I went in my local AT&T store to see if they had any in stock. They only had black and white. cant wait to get mine in the mail!.

The location by me has the 920 but only in black and 2 white handsets left. I couldn't do it in-store though as I am grandfathered into an older data/txt combo plan and because of that I have to once again do it over the phone because the stores still don't have the ability to move it over (their systems are a simple version of what their call center uses I guess). At least this time they didn't give me the typical "in order to upgrade your phone, you HAVE to upgrade your plan" which is always a lie heh. Oh well, I will wait a little more to see what others think about the phone first as on the outside looks like a toy to me. Very plain...nothing exciting at all. The inside however is great.

I upgraded my phone to Lumia 920 this morning from ATT and got a free remote charger . Just received an email from ATT and the phone had been sent out.

The store I visited had multiple 920's in White,Black, and Red. No 8X's. I got the White and my charger will be shipped to me. There were three other people who bought the 920. The staff seemed really excited about them. I had a great experience. I ended up paying $300 for it with an early upgrade.

Went into the atnt store about a half hour after they opened. The whole staff was wearing their windows 8 tshirts. I told them what I wanted and I got the Lumia 920 (black). Sales rep told me, "you're the first person in Marquette with this phone.". They didn't have the chargers in stock but he took my number and told me he'd text me by the end of the day whether they came in or not. He said if they didn't come in today he could reserve me one when they did come in or just order one for me and ship it directly to my house. He texted me back a few minutes ago with the news that they didn't come in yet, so I told him to ship one to my house for me. Been messing around with the phone all day, very impressed.
I was very surprised they gave me 23$ to give them my old phone (focus). I figured I didn't have any need for it so I decided it was a good idea to get rid of it so I got 23$ off my new phone.
I will say I was a little more knowledgeable then the salesman was on the phone , but it didn't matter to me. I will say the phone seems a little slippery to me. Maybe I'm just not used to using a phone without a case.

I almost picked up the Nokia 920 but still mad at windows for not having at least the most popular apps.  No instagram, no phone.  I think i'm going to get the galaxy note 2.

Best phone ever made! this thing is amazing the screen is rocking, camera better than I ever imagined.

My local AT&T store (Tempe, AZ) sold out of of red 920s literally two minutes before I asked for one. The sales rep told me there was nearly a dozen people waiting in line outside before they opened and I saw at least 5 more sold while I was waiting for my turn to be helped in the store. It was a really busy morning at this location!

But the wait was worth it, the Lumia 920 absolutely flies after living a year and a half with my trusty old HTC Arrive. I've already had three people notice and ask about the shiny new phone this afternoon at work too.

AT&T Store in Cumming, GA has 9 White, 4 Black, and 0 Red Lumia 920s. We just purchased 1 red, 1 black, and 1 white Lumia 920. All of the employees are wearing Windows 8 t-shirts and then employee that helped us was very enthusiastic about the integration between Windows Phone and Windows. As a Lumia 900 owner, I love the 920. It feels so much sleeker than the 900.

had to order online for the color I wanted was not in stock...boo hoo, but it will come in to 3-5 buisness days.  I had to leave Sprint :(  they just refuse to support Windows Phone and was tired of waiting for years now... so the 50 would come in handy because their is a big monthly pay difference...but the price of 99 dollars did help with the transition...

Ordered wed morning, but had bad luck with premier as order didnt even ship out thursday night. When i was able to cancel i canceled and decided to pick up in store in Lancaster PA. I was the first one when they opened and picked up a lumia 920. Unfortunatly i dont get a wireless charger :( but overall satisfied with the upgrade from the L900! At this point all stores in area have limited stock!

While playing with the new 920, I notice two photos and a video already on the Camera Roll. One was a shot of a Nokia camera test poster. The other photo and the video were of a Nokia employee clearly testing the front camera. I don't want to post the pictures because the employee's name badge is clearly visible and I don't want anyone getting in trouble. Has anyone else found a similar surprise from Nokia?

Ordered my Cyan 920 today! was gonna get the glossy Yellow but after playing around with the glossy White i realized that the grip on the matte devices felt better in the hand. Can't wait til I recieve it in the mail. I'm finally glad that I now a Windows Phone that both looks great and has impressive hardware specs to brag about. :D

I ordered a red 920 online Wednesday. The site said it would arrive Friday. It didn't even start processing until last night and it is still processing. I even paid for express shipping to make sure it got here by the weekend and yet it hasn't even left the warehouse. I wasted money on the shipping and when I called I was told they had no idea when it would ship.  :(

After calling about 10 different AT&T locations except the usual one I go to I thought that the prospect of finding an HTC 8x 16gb was slim. I started losing hope after the clock turned 1pm and I still did not find a single store that had any in stock. I was curiously surprised however to find out that my usual store indeed had an HTC 8x in stock- a 16gb version at that! It was as if the awesome device was waiting just for me :D! Did the upgrade on one of my lines for 199.99 and my collections is complete! Windows 8 on my desktop, Microsoft Surface and the 8x :D Hopefully developers get behind this vision and really give Apple and Google a run for their money!

Got my cyan 920 delivered today after many headaches. But those don't matter at all now. I love this thing, and the cyan color is ridiculously good looking.

I got the 920 first thing this morning, store staff actually didn't even know they had them, unbelievable, didn't have or know about the charging plate, and when I asked they said that it wasn't an att promo at which I said oh yes it is its on the att website, she pulled up the website, then went to talk to her manager, came back and wrote on my receipt owed a free plate when they come in lol. The only positive thing I can report is that they did have a huge wall mural with the 920 that covered one entire wall, but no phones on display and no 8x's in stock, there were about 15 people waiting for the store to open, and a few were upset that they didn't have the 8x and had no idea when they would have them, oh and also they only had black, no other colors, no biggie for me since that's actually what I wanted but a few were quite upset. Very poor launch to say the least!!

Just came back from local store, and I was told since I have preordered two days ago, I have to wait for the shipping, can't pick up!

Got my preordered cyan 920 just after lunch and wife was so impressed that she wanted one but all the local stores were sold out. There was Nokia rep in the store to look at the interest and he was happy to see my cyan and that we wanted one more but he said they did not anticipate such demand and that they were sold out. After almost an hour of calling multiple stores, found one white 920 in another store and wife was happy to get it.
PS: None of the stores in our area had the 8X even for display.

Talk about how LAME at&t is; walked into the Torrance CA at&t after work around 3pm. Not a single WP8 device on display. All the service reps were wearing their WP8 shirts, thank goodness. but no hardware on display. Nokia signed an exclusive deal for this??? LAAAME
