Nokia releases PhotoBeamer for Lumia Windows Phone 7.5 devices

PhotoBeamer for Windows Phone 7.5

Just a few weeks ago Nokia released PhotoBeamer for Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices such as the Lumia 820 and 920. Today, the photo sharing app has been released for Lumia Windows Phones running Windows Phone 7.5 such as the Lumia 900 and 610.

Photobeamer allows you to display your pictures on PC's or other web-enabled devices. Just run the app, head over to, scan the QR code that appears on the screen with your Lumia Windows Phone and your photos will appear on that web-enabled device.  It can be a computer, tablet, or a friends phone.  You just need a 3G/4G network or WiFi to send the pictures.

You can swipe through your photos on your phone and the display will be shared on the larger screen. There is no registration and the service is free. PhotoBeamer is a simple, easy way to share and display your Windows Phone photos on a larger screen.

PhotoBeamer for Windows Phone 7.5 is a free app that you can find in the Nokia Collection on your Lumia Windows Phone. The app was just released and may not be visible just yet. If you don't see PhotoBeamer right away, you can follow this link or scan the QR code below from your Lumia Windows Phone.

Just tried it out; definitely a lot cooler than I first assumed! Will for sure come in handy once in a while.

Residing says:

Downloading now!  Can't wait to try this out :)

Ambrose99 says:

Just tried this out on my Lumia 900, and it is SICK. Very impressive. Showed it to our IT Manager, who has a Droid Razr Max, and he was jealous as hell.

sholokov says:

I tried it using my Surface RT and it worked flawlessly. Awesome!

Big Supes says:

A lot of companies could learn a thing or two about customer service from Nokia.

rmichael75 says:

Amen to that-the last 2 weeks has been nothing but WP8. Like 7.x doesn't exist anymore LOL

Banner18 says:

When I go to it never shows a QR Code...only the waiting circle...Any ideas?

dfredh says:

It should work - try again.

It Should work - try again.

Are you using a computer?

Is there an equivalent of that app for windows phone 8. I think there is but I am not sure exactly the name of it? Does anyone know?

dfredh says:

PhotoBeamer is available for both Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5 - under the same "PhotoBeamer" name.
Windows Phone 7.5 =
Windows Phone 8 =

Thanks for the insight. I am going to download it right now. Thanks guys!!!

Mafiatounes says:

It is the same application it is in the Nokia Collection and already available for Lumia WP8 and now WP7.5.

TheDarKnight says:

Crashes on lumia 900, are you kidding me

TheDarKnight says:

Worked after a reinstall, that's one awesome app

trickym81 says:

Impressive. I'm still a little confused as to how they actually get it to work!

Laura Knotek says:

It's great to see Nokia supporting its 7.5 devices.

rmichael75 says:

When Nokia is releasing new devices with 7.8 they will ofcourse support it.. windows phone 7 is not dead for nokia. it may be dead for all others.

I think they may have cut a deal with MS on this. lets see.

KLinCHI says:

This an awesome app! It'd be great if I can get the photos to change automatically like a slide show, but this is very impressive, nonetheless!
Maybe the next one can be videobeamer!

JonasA says:

A friend of mine had an idea I wanted to share: Photobeamer is actually also a great way to do a slideshow for someone far away. Just tell them to go to, keep the window open and send you the QR code via Facebook/Skype/mail/whatever. Scan the Code and voila, you can show them your pics in a quick, responsive way.

rmichael75 says:

I was thinking about this exact idea and plan to test it with my dad in india and me in usa.:) should work.

RaRa85 says:

Dear HTC, what the heck are you guys doing? Nokia is doing ALL the work to make their consumers glad they bought their product.

ramtwins25 says:

Hey what's going on here?  I tried to download this app and I get a message that says it is not available for my device (Lumia 900) or in my region Tampa, Fl.  What gives?  Anyone know how I can get this app?

It has been unreliable for me.

dogfish54 says:

It's kinda mindbending ... great idea though.

hary536 says:

I am trying on my Lumia 710. But can't make it to work. Not sure, what I am missing. Is there any tutorial anywhere?

How is this any different from simply uploading the pics to skydrive and using that link to open on the larger machine ?

well, you don't have to upload any pics... the photos are streamed to the other browser directly from your phone. and the one watching the photos can't save them.
