FCC filing adds to evidence of LTE capable T-Mobile Lumia 810

Lumia 810

The Lumia 810 on T-Mobile US is preparing itself for a massive boost in speed with the mobile operator revealing possibility of a software update to enable LTE connectivity. Unfortunately there's no timeframe as to when consumers will be able to take full advantage of the boost in speed with the 4G network utilisation, but an FCC filing adds more fuel to the fire with a possible date.

The Lumia 810 is noted as RM-878, but there's another entry on the FCC website - RM878X. X marks the spot, right? The spot of possible LTE support and perhaps other upgrades. The latter has passed testing for the LTE 1700 frequency, which is on T-Mobile. This leads us to believe that future Lumia 810 handsets sold on T-Mobile will be LTE capable out of the box, with current hardware lining up for the software update.

The RM-878X certainly is a mysterious listing, but with a confidentiality date of June 24th, this could show signs of when we can all expect to see the Windows Phone sport LTE. We'll keep our eyes open for more details surrounding T-Mobile, the Lumia 810 and the mobile operator's LTE network.

FCC filing adds to evidence of LTE capable T-Mobile Lumia 810

I got the 810 and gave my Radar to my wife. She dumped her Lagdroid/freezedroid, now she is happy.

My 810's been a great phone.  Works great with a wireless charging stand and the Nokia Play speakers (tap and play) -- though keeping NFC on does limit me to a day per charge, so I turn it off if I'm away for more than a day.

I can't wait for T-Mobile to support lte, they may be my next carrier on their $70 unlimited plan, anyone know if the 920 supports it? Although I will probably update at the time.

Is there really any reason to not roll the update out as soon as they get FCC approval? It would make all existing customers happy, and give prospective customers another reason to buy the phone and go with TMo. Sometimes waiting until the time is "right" is the wrong answer.

Because if the phone has LTE and it isn't available in at least the major markets, people will complain. I think it's smart to not update or say anything official until its ready. But they do need to roll out the update quickly.

Come on, HTC. Please I hope you did something similar with the 8X. Wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't happen, but sure would be nice if it did.

Just unlocked my 810 Last Thursday!!!!! Now I Get LTE!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHhahahahahahahahH....missed a couple of caps...HAHAHAHAHAHAH!...HA

I think it will be a new version of the 810 like 810x just like they have a new version of the s3 coming soon.

Hoping the new updated hardware for LTE version of the Lumia 810 still has the removable battery!!!! I hate that one cannot remove the battery in most phones now!!!!! Which is another reason I will be upgrading to the Lumia 810 from my HTC HD7 instead of upgrading to the HTC 8X.
