Stay up-to-date with Australian sport on Windows Phone
Want to keep on top of sport in Australia? There are three new Windows Phone apps that are now available on the store and are 2013 versions of the top selling sports apps for both Australia and New Zealand in both 2011 and 2012 - ranking high in the paid sports genre throughout both years. AU Footy 2013, AU League 2013 and Sup-Rugby 2013.
The developer has taken a leap with the 2013 versions of the three sports apps and has purchased licensing for live scores and statistic feeds from Sportdata. The company provides most of the top tier media and news organisations in Australia with live sport data, so it's good to see such a respectable source added for Windows Phone.
The apps sport intuitive, simplistic user interfaces that detail fixtures, ladders, latest news, Twitter feeds, stats, venue details and more. Should you move between apps, the experience is familiar, with barely any learning curve for those who have been using previous versions.
The apps are pretty much self-explanatory, with AU Footy 2013 covering the AFL 2013 season, AU League 2013 taking care of the NRL Rugby League 2013 season, and finally Sup-Rugby 2013 that helps users remain up-to-date with the SANZAR Super Rugby 2013 season. Not a bad set of apps, and we strongly urge any avid sports fan to check each one out.
We've been alerted to upcoming version, which will introduce Windows Phone 7.8 and 8 Live Tile support. This will provide consumers with the ability to fully utilise larger tiles on their home screens. As well as this, a Windows 8 version is also in the works, just in case you're at the main computer or wish to check up on sports while using a tablet.
