Microsoft handing out Acer Iconia Windows 8.1 tablet to Build 2013 attendees

Acer Iconia W3

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer today unveiled at the company's Build event that all attendees will be walking away with an Acer Iconia tablet, which we believe to be the Iconia W3. This Windows 8.1 tablet will help developers and those interested in the platform get stuck in with new features on the latest hardware.

Unfortunately, media don't count and won't receive one, so there's no need to feel envious of all the journalists currently at the conference. Be sure to keep up-to-date with today's Build news with our feed.

They finally moved the Windows Button to the side...

Maybe for portrait and landscape modes?
No clue if current tabs let you do that.

Not saying you're wrong, but who said they were announcing a new Surface today?

7SAN says:

The first generation was revealed at Build 2012.. so yeah. And we've been receiving alot of news over past few months regarding the new Surface RT. You'll find the last post here at wpcentral, i think it was published 19th june 2013.

shalgrim says:

No, the first gen was not revealed at BUILD 2012, which was in November. The device came out in October. The Surface was revealed at its own special press conference thingie.

So Malatesta....we've been friends, kinda, for a while. I'll take that Surface Pro if you're not going to use it.

Maybe ask for one so Jay can use it for the Windows 8 app. :)

Good for them.

Does mobile nations have any kind of policy concerning receiving of gifts and goods from the companies they cover? Just curious. For example, many games journalism sites won't let their people accept the many gifts and goodies offered to them by videogame publishers. How about you guys?
