Marvel Comics Almanac, keeping track of your heroes and villains

Marvel Comics Almanac

Marvel Comics Almanac is a Windows Phone app from Silver Dollar Software. It's yet another almanac app very similar to the Star Wars and Star Trek Almanacs. It just focuses on comic book heroes and villains.

If Marvel Superheroes and Villians like Spiderman, Wolverine or Doctor Octopus is your cup of tea, Marvel Comics Almanac is worth a look.

Marvel Comics Almanac is laid out in similar fashion with pages for a featured character, the almanac's sections, those recently updated entries, the most popular characters, the seldom seen characters, and a video page.  Tapping on an individual character will take you pages covering their biography, attributes (super powers), sound clips, videos and photos. Individual villains or heroes can be pinned to your Start Screen for easy access.

Marvel Comics Almanac

The almanac series from Silver Dollar Software deliver a good amount of information on the subject matter. The Marvel Comics Almanac is no exception. Character videos include animated clips as well as clips from motion pictures. The video page contains over eighty episodes from various animated series (Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spiderman and more).

Marvel Comics Almanac

While Marvel Comics Almanac is worth looking into, there is some room for improvement. Load times were somewhat on the slow side and photos/sounds can't be saved for wallpaper or ringtone use. Not sure if there's a copyright issue in play but it would be nice to save the photos and sounds to your Windows Phone.

Marvel Comics Almanac is a free, ad-supported game for your Windows Phone 8 and 7.x device. You can find Marvel Comics Almanac here in the Windows Phone Store.

For Asgard!!!

So in what way is this a game??

The Windows Phone version does not come with a game but our Windows 8 version has a pretty neat guess who game where you can test your knowledge of the Marvel universe. We are hard at work on the Guess Who Game for Windows Phone and will be bringing that feature to the phone soon but its currently not there.

Nice looking app but the information it contains is almost nothing. Compare what it says about the next movie villain Ultron to what you can read on Wikipedia...
Uninstalled the app after a few minutes.

If you're using the light background, the pivoted words won't show. Only suitable for dark background.
