Nokia works with Indian mobile operators to provide free data for Lumia owners

Nokia Lumia India

Nokia has a rather sweet deal currently going on in India. Should you be looking to get involved with a brand new Windows Phone or would like to check out the manufacturer's Asha series of mobile devices, you'll be able to take full advantage of free data. Pairing with numerous mobile operators, including Vodafone and Airtel, there's an enticing offer whether you're after a Lumia 520 or Lumia 925.

Be sure to head on over to the Nokia website and choose the Windows Phone (or other Nokia device) you're after for more details on what offers are available and when the offer period expires. 2G and 3G connectivity are both supported with unique offers. Get in touch with your local branch for further details on how to get on the deal train.

AccentAE86 says:

Wow, this would be great in Canada where mobile data rates qualify for the "unreasonably priced" category!

Sarang68 says:

Rich. How is the Windows 8 app progressing? How much of the team is helping you?

XboxOmac says:

Do that in the US, and people will flock over to Windows Phone. Lol

SwimSwim says:

Indeed, you'd have to be foolish to not even try it. Sadly, with data rates as exspensive as they are in the US, Nokia would go bankrupt from such an offer.

What's the catch though?

drashya says:

You have to buy a Lumia lol!

Dreyer Smit says:

They should do this in South Africa. We need to get people off Blackberry and that horrible green freak

WinMaverick says:

These deals are there since the beginning months of this year. Got myself a new SIM exclusively for my lumia and it stayed there since. It seems this sweet tactics of enhancing subscriber base is really working for the service providers.

dineshr1988 says:

No use. As they have given only to docomo for lumia 920. Crap

tcube says:

Got this offer with my 720 but didn't know how to avail it. Also it required me to change my service provider. I get 1GB 3G on my current one for about ₹30 (50 cents) so didn't bother much.

Rahul Nirwan says:

not for me.....have a vodafone sim and no vodafone offer on L620 :(

Get this in the us. Now.

Ankmeyester says:

Got this last year with my Lumia 610 and this year with my Lumia 720.
Been around since August 2012

ssapre says:

They do have the same since old Nokia days. Even with WPs, they have such offers since 710 /800 launch in India.

Raver Rain says:

got 3 gb free in my 920 and 500 mb on my 520

msi31684 says:

mrnavkhan says:

I already used 6GB 3G data on Airtel in India with Nokia Lumia 620

marcoshow says:

mukulvdhiman says:

When i got my 820in feb i received 3 months 3g data.. :-)

The 2 psychos up there..........jealous. Even I enjoyed 3gb for 3 months on Airtel, its cool.

MDak280 says:

This is perfect! I know in Lebanon, Blackberry is so huge because everybody gets free internet with one. Nokia should expand this to more markets because it is a big deal! It probably won't happen somewhere like the US or the UK, but maybe in the Middle East/Latin America/Asia.

Smart move, Nokia!

Rehan Saleem says:

I don't suppose this works out here. Most of the folks here order phones from people in the Middle east to bring in India due to the comparitively high price on phones in India and specially the LUMIA lines. I personally bought my Lumia phone from Saudi Arabia.

RommelS says:

This is why Nokia is dominating the WIndows Phone landscape. They are wheeling and dealing just to differentiate themselves from other OEMs.

diktea says:

i never get any offers when i bought L620,
so we have to buy new lumia to get the offer or can i still get that with this present phone?
