Is really the only real benefit of getting a 900 over the 520 just the camera?

I actually think the 520's camera is better, even if it has less megapixels, no flash, and no front camera. The 520 is a LOT better than the 900.

I don't know what you have been smoking but in daylight, the L900 camera is pretty damn solid(at least mine is).

The L520 camera is better. I have the L800 which I believe has the same camera as the L900 and a L520. Its surprising but true.

wpguy says:

WP8 would have me choosing the 520

MajjieD says:

You also have better OS:
- More future-proof eco-system over WP7
- IMO, more stable
- WAAAAY Improved Nokia software bundled with it
- More features
I would certainly take a 520 over a 900. No question.

TechAbstract says:

My Lumia 900 is as stable as my Lumia 920. No difference.

WP7 is dead... Its like buying a HP Touchpad... But worse.

Evster88 says:

That's nice, but a person would have to be a moron to buy a deprecated OS at this point.

ikissfutebol says:

The resolutions/screen quality I thought were different. My brothers 521 at least seemed a lot less vivid than I remember the 900 or my 928. Also, this one is probably opinion-based, but the outer materials differ, too, so the better is your call.

sip1995 says:

They have to stop manufacturing windows phone 7.8 handsets.

They aren't, they are trying to cleat inventory.

Etios says:

It must be a clearance sale, there is no chance of Nokia making new Lumia 900 when they are already busy pumping out an entire portfolio of WP8 handsets: 520,620,625,720,820, 810,822,920,925,928,1020.

Evster88 says:

This. They're trying to alleviate their inventory writedown for unsold 900s.

garak0410 says:

Still not a fire sale on the W3 yet...i am not jumping on the bandwagon either by saying this but I've seen the screen and the dotty and hazy look is pretty tough...

MajjieD says:

I hear solid rumours (is that an oxymoron?) that a refresh of the W3 is coming out in September with a better screen. If they keep the price the same then I'm all over it.

Etios says:

Yes, Acer is reportedly replacing the crappy screen on the W3 with a Good 1080P panel but the price will go up.

westex74 says:

I'm waiting for the price to drop to $99. Which I can't imaginbe not being far off. Screen is terrible but for $100, we should be able to deal with it.

dougwallace says:

W3 js the worst screen you could imagine. I was given one for free at Build and I never touch it. Perfect size for me but the screen is unusable.

ikissfutebol says:

With or without a keyboard? I think I would enjoy a 7-8" over a 10" tablet, but it would be a moot point if the keyboard was either bulky or too cramped. I am very interested to see Microsoft's keyboard solution with a 7-8" device.

MA83 says:

I'll gladly take it off your hands for a good price! SRS! PM me if you're interested.

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered a W3. Hoping the screen isn't too bad for me. Can't beat Windows 8 and full Office 2013 on a device for that price. Now, I just have to ease my wife into the idea of me having it. :)

I have the W3 and find it very pleasant to use, I use it mostly for Outlook. It's just awesome to have full client outlook in a truly mobile form!

That's what I'm thinking. I'm really anxious to get it. I think I'll be able to overlook the screen quality issues. Probably be a non issue for me. Can you give me your honest opinions of the screen quality???

The screen really is a personal thing. I saw one ay Currys last week and thought it looked *okay*.
A lot of people disagree with me. Pretty much every web reviewer called it "horrible". But if it drops to around £100, i wouldn't mind.

Got mine in the mail this past Monday.  Gotta say that I am more than pleasantly surprised with the w3.  Maybe a bit of reverse psychology is involved having seen so many bad reviews, but I'm really digging it.  The screen is not the best, as others have stated, but the computer as a whole was way worth the 250.00 I paid for it.  The Iconia W3 is a fantastic start, and I am very happy to have mine.  Should I have waited for the 2nd gneration???  Maybe, but I'm not disappointed with my decision.

inteller says:

so i have to pay an extra 70 bucks to have carrier meddling removed?  fuck that....they should be the same price.  att is NOT subsidizing that phone.

Bobert_123 says:

I was planning obn buying one of those acer 8 inch tablets to replace my dead BB PlayBook. I hear thy camera is pretty bad, as well as the screen. Does anyone here know if this device is a good buy or should I wait for the updated one that is coming in a couple months?

cashcar1979 says:

The Acer W3 is lousy...wait for something better that has a good screen and good design/build quality.

PennyDuncan says:

I have the Acer Iconia and I am totally happy with it...
