They are beautiful products, let hope they can get the marketing right this time around! I will be preording me on Thursday when I get paid. Microsoft needs to get salepeople out in force promoting surface pro 2 to the enterprise, colleges, schools, etc. Don't sit idle. They should make sure consumers know that surface 2 is a media consumption device the comes bundle with office for school productivity and will not run legacy 3rd party applications. Otherwise, both of these are great.

Microsoft first have to sell this products out side USA, last Surface hit only 5 countrys, for example in east europe no microsoft products are available. So if they will only sell in us, probably it will be a big failure in terms of sales.

This. Not only was their original marketing off the mark (recent commercials comparing it to iPad are much better, but 10 months too late), but their limited distribution model was terrible, even in the U.S. (where for the first 3 months you could only get it at Microsoft Stores, of whcih there are like 32, then you could also get it at Best Buy or Staples, which is better, but it should've been everywhere: Walmart, etc.). They needed to hit all the global markets, as you said. I hope they do that better this time around.

Microsoft needs to fire their marketing team, and then hire a whole new marketing team.

$449 for the, Surface 2? How on, Microsoft. I hope it'll at least come with a touch keyboard.

Nikumba says:

What's wrong with that price?  Cheaper than the equivlent iPad, plus all the stuff you get with it, you are getting a free Surface 2

Plus Office for free with Outlook!

k00ksta says:

Getting tired of this comment .. 450$ for a tablet that if you did any comparison with what is on the market is a completely fair price.

coip says:

Agreed: it is a fair price for everything you get (particularly the free Office, Skype, and SkyDrive). The problem is that people don't even get that far: they see the price, see a cheaper Android tablet and, even though the Android tablet sucks, they don't even investigate the Surface any further. Microsoft needs to sell 2 versions: one that comes with no extras (no Office, etc.) and one that comes bundled with everything (at a discount).

Daylife says:

Stop complinaing about the PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a top of the line product, superior hardware. Jesus christ these kids complaining about price need to shut the hell up.

Fndlumia says:

Wonder if Nokia is making any of these hardware components

sabermanX says:

Can someone please explain Microsoft's incremental pricing model for the Surface 2 Pro?  For example if you want a 500 GB drive instead of a 256 GB one the price goes up by $500.  a 500 GB solid state drive costs less than $500 and the difference in price between a 256 GB solid state drive and a 500 GB solid state drive is a lot less than $500.
