26

While many will simply keep their Windows Phone in their pocket or case while in the car, a good many will opt to secure their Windows Phone in a car cradle. These cradles come in a wide range of styles and allows your phone to be easily accessible while driving whether you use the phone as a GPS navigational tool or just to see who is calling before you trigger your hands-free device.

OSO is offering a NFC enabled car cradle the company hopes will catch your eye. The OSO Push Mount is offered in three different mount options and with the NFC support, you can have your NFC enabled Windows Phone launch your favorite traveling app when mounted in the cradle.

In using the OSO dash mounted cradle for the past few days, it comes across as a solidly built option worth considering. However, there is one feature that seems to hold this cradle back.

Tonight, Engadget is reporting that the name of the phone is called "One (M8) for Windows," which is a little awkward, although if you drop the M8 it has a nice ring to it.

Engadget reports that they phone should launch by on "Verizon during the third quarter, or no later than the end of September" although our sources tell us that Microsoft Stores have a planning date of August 20 with a launch on the 21st. The off-contract, full price of the phone is listed at $610 with on-contract price most likely nearing $199. The name is also confirmed as "One (M8) for Windows" according to documents we have seen.

WPCentral gets its colors back with our latest website update

116

Late last week, Windows Phone Central had a nice little refresh to our website. The new header to the site has a more modern appearance, is dynamic (try clicking into a story and watch it change topics), and it features more of our guides and super pages, like our Windows Phone 8.1 Update Tracker for quick access.

The one downside to the deployment was the color scheme was not exactly _something many of us wanted. Of course, I mentioned we would be changing it soon and sure enough, our hardworking developers and designers have brought back our familiar magenta, and cyan colors from days past. Hooray! Therefore, you get those new features _and the accustomed colors too. Later, we can still look to add custom themes for registered members.
