First look at the ultra-budget Nokia Lumia 530 dual-SIM Windows Phone

200

The Lumia 520 is going to go down as the phone that drove Windows Phone in emerging markets and for those who want a budget phone. Therefore, it should be no surprise to see Microsoft pick up Nokia's reins with the Lumia 530, which is just now launching globally.

I managed to get my hands on a brand new bright green Lumia 530 and in the following video, I talk about the features, specs and my first impressions. As it turns out, it very much reminds me of the Lumia 620 in terms of design, and the OS is surprisingly zippy considering the price range for this phone.

Would you equip the HTC One M8 for Windows with the Dot View Case?

169

The Dot View Case for the HTC One M8 for Windows is great because it has interactive features while still protecting the device. You can see the time, weather, and even interact with Cortana without flipping open the front cover. But not everyone is in love with it. WPCentral forums member, offbeatpop, thinks the features are cool, but it's ugly and hides the beautiful craftsmanship of the HTC One M8 for Windows. What do you think?

More Lumia 620s begin getting Cyan update, including India and Latin America

340

Microsoft and Nokia are still pushing more Lumia Cyan updates, with the Lumia 620 getting another wave in the last 24 hours. Previously, a handful of countries in Europe were the only ones getting Cyan for the Lumia 620, but now the updates are expanding to Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

Unfortunately, for those in the Middle East and North America, there are still no signs of Lumia Cyan, though a wider release is expected soon. Did your carrier make the cut? See our recent additions below, or head to our full tracker to see everything thus far.

Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 830 gets real with photos and certification in Brazil exposing all

470

The Lumia 830 is the next upper mid-range devices to come from Nokia, now owned by Microsoft. The device is seen in alleged photos a few weeks ago, along with various bits of information including unique releases for US carriers and a global launch.

Now, the Lumia 830, complete with 'Microsoft Mobile' internal branding, gets caught passing through Brazil's Anatel certification (analogous to the FCC in the US). The phone is all but official now, and so far, it looks to be one interesting phone.

Assassin's Creed Pirates drops anchor on Windows 8, Windows Phone version temporarily delisted

51

Long rumored, but only officially confirmed just before release, Assassin's Creed Pirates finally sailed onto Windows Phone last week. One week later, the phone game has been delisted due to many users experiencing crashing issues. In its stead, the less buggy Windows 8 and RT version of Assassin's Creed Pirates has arrived. Tablet and PC gamers can now take on the role of an eighteenth century pirate and terrorize the seas!

The Windows 8 and RT versions also bring along a couple of caveats. First, their Xbox Live Achievements don't work just yet. For whatever reason, it's not uncommon for Achievements on Windows 8 and RT to kick in a few days after a game becomes available. This game's Achievements will arrive soon.

The other bad news? Like Ubisoft's Rayman games, Assassin's Creed Pirates is not a universal purchase. Still, the game is worth buying at least once. Read on for our early impressions.
