Dummy Lumia 820 display unit spotted in O2 UK store

O2 Lumia820 Shop

A Lumia 820 dummy display unit has been spotted at an O2 UK store. the Windows Phone hasn't yet been announced by the carrier, but we've been previously informed that the Lumia 920 will be stocked in due course. While this is by no means official confirmation, there's little reason for O2 to actually have a dummy unit in-store if they weren't at least planning on selling one.

We've reached out to O2, but in the meantime enjoy the above photo taken by a Windows Phone Central reader. O2 is expected to launch its 4G network next year when carriers other than EE will be able to make use of the band in the UK. The company has displayed strong support for Windows Phone, and plans to stock not only the Samsung ATIV S, but also both HTC devices.

The Lumia 820 sports a 4.3 AMOLED screen, dual-core 1.5Ghz chip, LTE, NFC, 8MP camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage (with SD Card slot) and a 1650mAh battery.

Thanks, Mackenzie, for the photo and tip!

A dummy phone does not do this OS justice. They should use a demo Microsoft account just like Microsoft recommended for RT/8.

They had one demo phone in this store, everything else was a dummy. The only working handset was actually a black Limia 800 hidden away near the front of the store.Guys instore said o2 were being very tight lipped about the device. Forgot to add this picture was taken in North Finchley store.

Does anyone have more info about the scratch resistant screen? I like the 820 alot but no gorilla glass ...boooo...my focus s still cleans up like brand new..

I prefer the look of the front side of the 820. I might get it sim free depending on price e.g under £320. The trade off is the screen and camera difference from the 920.
