Fan love from the ladies: The Windows Phone rap

If it's one thing our platform needs is fan love--that unabashed desire to share and espouse the greatness that is our OS. For that, we'll always encourage people to show their devotion, no matter how geeky or nerdy.

So it's with great pleasure and a hearty smile we bring to you the Windows Phone 7 rap. The idea was spawned by @MobieChick on Twitter, who pinged us with the idea if anyone would watch. We basically dared her saying we'd run the video and the rest is history. What made this fun of course was that MobieChick solicited lyrics from other Windows Phone fans on Twitter, making this a community project.

Lets give the ladies a big hand, especially for putting themselves out their on Vimeo like this. Takes guts! (And lets be kind in comments to our sistahs!).

So do the guys now want to make a response video?

that was painful to watch and listen. im sorry nd i dont mean to be rude or horrible but if Windows Phone lost some "Loser" type fans, i think it would become a lot more popular.as of now, android is for geek wannabies, iphone is for total morons, someone on my facebook had this exact status update: love my iphone 4s 64gb in white!!!! that is almost a crime.and for windows phone, it's sort of in the middle. most people who have windows phones are people who like to swim against the current like myslef. i dont want an iphone just because it's "cool" so to speak. nor do i want an android phone to boast about "dual core" or other unnecessary features. I like windows phone because it's about me not it.

You need to lighten up. It's a phone, not your identity. And going by your comments in the first paragraph, not sure we'd miss you much either.

mjenabi2 says:

you missed my point. windows phone marketing is only good if non-windows phone fans like em. ok im a bigger loser than those four, but at the end of the day i already have a windows phone and am a fan of it but I saw this with a few mates who have iPhones n droids and again it didn't capture their imagination either. ok I know this isn't a official ad campaign but MS does this sort of thing with "me series" etc.and on ur last comment, what I said was not a personal attack on them girls but rather looking at it in the marketing point of view. im quite sure I am lame-er than each n one of those girls.

Rich Edmonds says:

We need marketing, four hot girls rapping about the platform in my eyes is damn good marketing.

RudiVisser says:

Four hot girls rapping about the platform *would* be good marketing, yes.Let's wait for that......

ScubaDog2008 says:

That's just mean. Shut up.

Oh please this was fun all about fun. Stop being a scrooge.

Odog4ever says:

See your operating under the assumption that the iphone is "cool". iPhone is THE definition of mainstream at this point so it can't be cool. Everybody know what it is and its readily available for the grandparents to pickup on their next trip to Walmart.Gone are the days when you were on the "cutting edge" or "artificially affluent" for having an iPhone.

Nice! The blonde is super cute... This helps when people are passionate enough about something to actually "do" something to show the love.Steve Ballmer is probably popping a tent!

Okay, girls, props for doing it in the first place, props for enthusiasm enough over the platform to WANT to do it. Now, if you really want to do this up right, see if you can tag someone whose got a forte' in music videos that gets a lot of YouTube hits and see if you can do a 2.0 version. Now THAT would be great.Nothing but encouragement for you, ladies!
