HTC can't modify the OS at all, but that won't stop them from bringing their styling to Windows Phone. And we know they will be offering dock accessories for the Radar and Eternity but lots of folks were wondering, what's the point if Windows Phone doesn't do landscape?
Ah, well that's where HTC steps in with their HTC Dock app. As can be seen in our hands-on video, HTC have created an app that is very Sense derived. Let see what we can gather what this app does:
Sure it doesn't make up for no-landscape support, but as a bed stand or desk accessory, we can't help but really like the idea of having this. You?

Well that should make moving from webOS to here a lot easier: exhibition mode!
exhibition mode (and more "dock-modes" like navigation mode for car docks, etc) would be awesome to be built-in.and all those docs with wireless charging like webOS devices.i hope for Microsoft to draw such a baseline for WP8. it would be a step into the future.
The idea's solid, but the execution...ugh. I personally find that app to be horribly ugly, and it would irk me to look at -- especially given how aesthetically pleasing WP7 generally is. This looks like what you'd find on Android (not trying to start a war, but Android's strong point is not its prettiness).
Valid point.
sense does not make, uhm, sense, on wp7. never did, never will.a metro-styled version of it, yes why not?
One of the reaaons I dont like htc. No attempt to make this interface more Metro like, just plonked their android skin on a WP7 device. No class. Like a pimp constantly trying to sell his wares. And check out the runnymead, htc has already obsoleted the Titan by offering an android version with better (arguably) audio (beats) and a 32GB option. Two things their WP7 device could just as easily have had. When is Microsoft going to wake up and realise the only real partner they have with WP7 is Nokia?
this comment is fail.
I'm not digging it myself. I miss the sense on my 6.5 phone (dont miss the phone though...) in the "sense" that the UI was fun. If WP7 allows longer rectangles like for images and HTC hub...then why can't one of those rectangles be a sense clock that you can stick above all the other squares? Why can't the wallpaper behind everything be animated? Of course asking questions that make "sense" doesn't make any sense in MS land....its like why they didn't allow for custom ringtones. What kind of bad drug promoted them to leave that out? I felt like I took a trip back to 1999 when I couldn't customize my ringtone.
I personally have no real need for customizable ringtones, but still, there is absolutely no excuse for MS to just plain miss that. Wow. What were they thinking?! To be fair, customizable ringtones are a feature in the update to v7.5.
The idea of a dock is great (especially since there are no kickstands on either of these new devices), but the interface makes it look like it was an afterthought. I really get the feeling that HTC is still stuck in their ways of the old Sense skin, and are trying to keep that going. It just doesn't jive with the Metro design, and really looks ugly to me after being spoiled with Metro. It is great that the features are available, I just wish they could implement it better.
Hopefully they won't **** this up like they did with the HD2.Made a dock then changed the size of the phone when it was released in the US.
