HTC Radar 4G tapped Best of 2011

HTC Radar 4G

Tech website IGN has named the HTC Radar 4G Windows Phone one of the best smartphones of 2011. It joins the iPhone 4S, Motorola DROID Razr and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the best smartphones for the year.

IGN doesn't get into why they choose the HTC Radar but we won't disagree with their choice. We have been impressed with each of the new Windows Phones that have hit the market over the past few months and the Radar is not an exception.

From the quality 3.8" screen to the uni-body design, many will find the HTC Radar appealing. It is a base or entry level Windows Phone so we can't knock it for having 8gb of storage but recognize that some may want a little more storage.

With the Samsung Focus S reaching CNET's Top Five list, the Nokia Lumia winning the What Mobile Award for Mobile of the Year, IGN's ranking of the HTC Radar and the Windows Phone OS taking the Know Your Mobile Operating System of the Year award it would appear Windows Phone is getting a healthy share of the spotlight.

I have to say I Love my HTC Radar.
I feel that the Titan is just to big for me.
and while the Lumias are looking cool they are missing a front facing camera and that is a major dealbreaker for me.
Radar fits very nicely with what I wanted from a Windows Phone device and Im very happy.
That said, Nokia releases a Lumia phone with front facing camera and I will probably switch.

Mes3 says:

People actually use their front facing camera? Ive used it once on my iPhone (thanks for only having the Arrive, Sprint!). I just don't see how it's a deal breaker for anyone. But hey, that's just me.

I think it's more of the fact that since you can have it on other phones then why not on all phones...

People are all different, you know. My parents live in another country, so I use Skype a lot (for video calls mostly) - and I use my phone for Skype when I'm travelling or just not near a PC (not Windows Phone for obvious reason of not having Skype yet).

I travel a lot and talking to my family/girlfriend via Tango is a big deal for me.
Its defnitely a must-have for me so i will wait until Nokia decides to make one with a ffc.
