HTC Trophy just around the corner?

Back in November, we covered the confirmation of the HTC Trophy coming to Verizon early this year. Earlier this month we posted some information pointing to a launch on March, 24th.  Now we are seeing offers on the Verizon website that details an offer for Microsoft Employees that expires April 1, 2011.  It may be an indication that the Trophy isn't too far away from hitting the shelves.

The offers for Microsoft employees (lucky) seems like a very attractive deal indeed. One would simply contact Verizon and extend the service contract for a further two years, then you will receive $100 in billing credit (per line) on your account. Verizon would then email you as to when the Trophy arrives onto the network and for a fee of $199 the phone is yours, which is coupled with free case and vehicle power charger.  Then to sweeten the deal further, Microsoft employees will be reimbursed the $199 cost by Microsoft.  This is likely an extension of Microsoft's "free phone program" for employees.

The device, as previously reported, will be featuring the NoDo update (though not the latest), quadband and is said to have 16GB memory, but is the HTC Wildfire counterpart for WP7. I actually bought this device for my partner for £300, so this deal is a real catch for eligible employees.

Thanks Kiel for the tip!

Uh oh, April 1st? Don't tell me Verizon is trolling us!

Oh come on and release it already. VZW KNOWS I'll be upgrading when the next wave comes out anyway, so let's just get on with it.

How many dates has this site said ? Do we have a Trophy yet ? No, so when and this time get it right ....WTF verizon....Edit: I called the 800 number (the number to order it) and asked about status on it, she didn't not ask me if I was a MS employee and knew exactly what I was talking about on the HTC Trophy. She told me that they were told last week to say "Early 2011" so I said, "Early 2011 has come and gone, where is it ?"...she said that is all the info that they have...Call...maybe you get a different rep, You need to be a vzw customer to call, you need to "log in", no issues tho.

My HTC 7 Trophy has only 8GB of storage memory. You have allways something special there in the US :)Here it's cheapest WP7 phone. Crappy camera, crappy body and touch sensitive screen is sometimes laggy. Nothing you should be looking for :)

I'd like to know the sources of all this "16gb" information related to the trophy. HTC's own website says it's an 8gb phone (http://www.htc.com/www/product/7trophy/specification.html), with no expandable storage whatsoever. That's why this phone is a dealbreaker for me. 8gb & no option for more is a HORRIBLE combination esp on a platform w/ SO many games available! Interested to hear where the 16gb claim is coming from

https://store.verizonwireless.com/Landing/custom/microsoft/learnmore.htmlLook at the bottom 512mb + 16gb...The 8gb is for the overseas version of the phone, the 16gb will be the one hitting Verizon... The Verizon specs are not on HTC yet, as the phone is not released yet. It's actually very easy to even put a 32gb card in it... check the trophy area on XDA...step by step with pictures and a way to do it with out voiding your warranty. Also, look on XDA there is someone claiming that they are doing testing for verizon with this phone and quotes 16gb

yay! they used my tip! and even other blogs and news sites are picking it up!gloating aside, i really hope this comes out soon. I found this by googling "site:verizonwireless.com htc trophy" hoping I'd find something a little more juicy. Verizon is really the only game in my area and I've been waiting for a wp7 ever since the iphone came out and i had a zune.

dwbmb says:

May I ask you why is this phone that expected? I have it for almost half a year and I can't find nothing special about it :)

luimende says:

Because Verizon does not have WP7 phones yet, only major carrier without it. I just got my 7pro, or Arrive, sunday.

dwbmb says:

Oh, well then, I didn't know. THX

It looks like the date changed again on that page to be "valid through April 7th". So much for a possible April Fool's joke...

April 1st, otherwise illustrious as April Fool's Day or All Patsy's Day, is a day devoted to unwiseness and hoaxes april fool quotes. Hopefully, the pip happening that can transgress upon a hapless dupe is a person of unfathomed embarrassment.
