IM+ Pro released for Windows 8

IM+ Windows 8

Shape has released IM+ for Windows 8 to compliment the already available free IM+ app on the platform. The pro version of the popular messaging service sports a number of features that aren't available in the standard free app that's available. In both apps, major IM services are supported, including MeinVZ, Jabber, Fetion, Renren, SINA Weibo, Mamba.Ru, Yandex chat and more.

As well as the above, IM+ Pro enables users to send text messages and photos in conversations. The app supports group chats in Skype, AIM and ICQ, and allows one to add multiple accounts per service. Personal status messages can be configured to reveal current mood and application appearance can be customised.

As a minor addition, IM+ Pro supports typing notifications and the team has noted that further improvements will be applied in future updates. IM+ is also available for Windows Phone, so if you're into expanding such functionality to the mobile platform, it's certainly possible.

You can download IM+ and IM+ Pro from the Windows Store for free and $4.99 respectively.

I jumped in the air of happiness seeing that it was for Windows Phone 8-- but no, it was just Windows 8. >:(

Hope its better than the app for WP7

Off topic, but does windows rt (surface rt) support screenshots?

wetworker says:

Yes. Press the  volume down button and windows icon on the front of the Surface at the same time. The screen should dim if done correctly.

OMG. Thank you so much!!!

paschott says:

Hold down the windows button and volume down at the same time. Screenshots are stored in your pictures folder.

I've actually had a great experience with im+ on WP in the last 6 months or so. I reached out to them about a wp8 version, they say its being developed. The current version on my 920 is great, it only lacks lock screen notifications imho.

pankaj981 says:

I used IMplus for Gtalk till I found ICQ, it loads way faster than IMplus on 7.5 and 8

jfmanzo says:

That's "complement," not "compliment." First sentence.

futurix says:

I love IM+ (Pro) - I use it on WP7, iPhone, iPad, and now on my desktop with Windows 8.
