Wishtel partners with Intel to bring affordable tablets to Indian businesses

Wishtel

Wishtel, a home grown Indian brand, has partnered with Intel to offer affordable and reliable Windows tablets to enterprises. The company has unveiled a new IRA-IW range of Windows tablets in different sizes at an affordable price range of INR 7,000-18,000.

The IRA IW series is powered by Intel Baytrail 3700 Series 1.33GHZ-1.8GHZ processors and Window 8.1 operating system. Pretty much uniform in specifications, the three tablets are available in 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch sizes.

Here is Intel's Anand Ramamoorthy, Director of Consumption Sales, on the new tablets:

"There are over 200 million middle-class potential customers in India alone for different screen sizes across different price points. While nicely priced, the tablets don't cut much corners in hardware specifications, although it's left to see how the build quality and user experience is. While primarily positioned as devices for enterprises, the tablets would also be sold to retail customers as well.

It's good to see Intel working with India brands to make affordable devices. Btw I never heard about this brand Wishtel.

Hey Abhishek, I know there are subtle differences between the tablets, in terms of display sizes and battery capacities, but I'm not seeing anything about clock info of the processors. Is it on the article? Otherwise I might know whether my ADHD is acting up. ;)

Nice, usually all those low-cost tablets have the same specs but this one has 3G. Still waiting for a 4G version of the Surface Pro 3. Hope the Surface 3 will include a cellular module.

Nice specifications for that price! Wen will we get such phones at that price??? I wonder...sigh..

Can you make phone calls with the 3G version? It seems like there is an earpiece on the top of the tablet for phone calls.

Wp8.1???? that is cooler than I expected.I think the price cut on Os is due to the new reduced license fees by Ms.If this is good then lets c if I will buy this.

I hope they will release enable text massaging over gsm/3g and call. why windows 8 doesn't offer this kind of features like other competitor did to their tablets?
