Leaked: Huawei Ascend W1 bezel image for Windows Phone 8

Huawei

We’ve discussed Huawei joining the Windows Phone 8 scene in the past, especially with their run in with the US government recently, but now we have a first look at a prototype part.

The Ascend W1 is rumored to be their first Windows Phone 8 device, destined most likely for China by end of the year or early 2013. Supposed images of the bezel of that device have just come forward to us tonight, after being posted on the social site Sina Weibo. Much like the leaked Nokia display bezel images, these appear to come from a factory working on the digitizer aspect of the forthcoming device.

RUM: 8

Not much of course can be discerned from the image, but it is clear to our eyes that we’re looking at something for Windows Phone 8. We’ll keep you posted if more comes forward.

Source: Sina Weibo; Thanks, Talan1314, for the images

Looks nice unlike the NL822

VagrantWade says:

Yea I would pretty much need this phone to allow self sustaining human flight to even consider purchasing a Huawei.

jcagga says:

This looks really good.

mjrtoo says:

It will never make it to the US.

funkyGeneral says:

Maybe I will check it out when I head back to China next year...

nanoware says:

ZOMG MICROSOFT DEALING WITH THE CHINNESE SPYS!!!V

Pour68 says:

Absolutely, most of tech giant companies such as microsoft, google & apple have spy activity & stolen private data of users & sell it to CIA. I have an advice to you don't doubt about this thing dude.

jcagga says:

There is a difference between spying and national security.

Nightmare for nokia , if it can compete with lumia , which one Chinese would buy ??

As I know Nokia aim for China market after failed from US market.

I bet Elop won't be able to sleep tonight. Nightmare....

KrazyKatz64 says:

He may , and may not. If Nokia falls , just back to Microsoft.... Oops !

namikral says:

this site seems to be way behing wmpoweruser, the full pics have been published hours ago, this is some old news.

If u don't like WPCentral, leave.

respect and STFU or GTFO

Horujan says:

Huawei,Pls move fast!

irlju#WP says:

Looks almost identical to the reference WP8 design Microsoft uses for the presentations & emulator.

well see wmpoweruser might report quicker, but wpcentral is way more studied. Effing Surur will post anything

Wpcentral posted the @nokiapureview crap. So yes, they post anything as well.

Residing says:

Surur posts ANYTHING on a regular basis; anything - inflamatory, misleading, junk site and Nokia troll.  I refuse to visit that site - directly or via link.

WPCentral posts viable information, and they don't pass off junk or rumors as facts or 'the truth'; not to mention that it seems that Microsoft actually has respect for this site and will seed information to them...WMPU - not so much :)

Mafijoco says:

there  are images of the whole phone already

This is great news for the Chinese market. If any windows phone floods that market I bet it will be this model. Great news for wp8.

There's no other phone like ME and it'll never be ;-)
