Let the Windows Mobile 7 speculation begin!
Windows Mobile 6.5 isn't even out yet — hell, as we just found out, they're still tweaking the UI — so we suppose that means it's time to start the speculation of what Windows Mobile 7 is going to look like.
Above, we have Exhibit A from wmpoweruser of what supposedly is a shot of Windows Mobile 7. Also, they say, the "latest inside rumors" say WM7 will reach manufacturers by the end of the year and be out on phones by spring 2010. That's right in line with what we've previously reported.
So maybe this is a shot of Windows Mobile 7, and maybe it ain't. (We'd expect to see the Windows flag somewhere at some point.) Regardless, what we (hopefully) see this time next year is likely to change a fair bit.
But what say you, dear readers? If this is legit, how's it look to you?

To me it seems like just a skin or theme for windows mobile standard. It looks very nice but I don't see anything very impressive that I would hope for with WM7.
No seriously compare this with what we saw in the Live Mesh ad:

It doesn't look real to me at all..
I want to say this look legit. Because Windows has been talking about going more towards touch with the finger then touch with a stylus (the new thing), but that bottom sound and battery looks like something from night rider. And the finger usefulness (if thats a word) seems worse then the honey comb idea they have for 6.5. Finally this isn't anything that changes my eyes on phones as Ballmer said but he tends to lie
I'm gonna go ahead and say.. 100% FALSE.
WM7 is a year away.
Its gonna be a redesign of the WM operating system, not a skin.
Anybody else wondering why they keep making that bottom bar bigger? Such a waste of screen space...
They're moving stuff to the bottom bar to make the top bar less cluttered. The current top bar is cluttered with icons:

Windows Mobile 7 has moved the start flag, battery, and signal icons to the bottom to save space and give the OS a cleaner, less cluttered look:

God, I hope this is a lock screen mock-up and not a Today replacement. Also really hate the iPhone-style icons; the ones on the new, new Start menu look much better.
I hope 7 follows Fennec's lead in stressing content over chrome. The title and soft-key bars aren't needed 90% of the time, so why are they always there?
