Reminder: Live blog of Microsoft’s next gen Xbox announcement, 1PM ET today

In case you’re living under a cave, today is Microsoft’s big day: the reveal of the next generation Xbox console. We wrote about what to expect yesterday, and today, we finally get to see what it’s all about.

You can watch the event live on your Xbox 360, Windows Phone 8 device, or of course your PC.

We’ll have a live blog of the event in case you can’t watch it any place or you want some live commentary on the announcement (and to discuss with your fellow Windows Phone Central community members).

The event starts at 10AM PT/1PM ET. You can use this handy scheduler to see your local time or use the countdown clock below.

I'm keeping an open mind about this but they are going to have to blow my mind for me to buy a new Xbox I want a ps4 a little more at the moment my ps3 needs an upgrade but im a bit skeptical that either console is going to be an innovative masterpiece they will probably just apple us with a few new features but like i said I'll keep an open mind

"The event starts at 10AM PT/ 1PM ET"
Right. Because everyone in the world lives in the US!
Would it hurt you guys to include a GMT reference?

In the article, I link to a universal scheduler for your time zone. Please make use of it.  I also embedded a literal "countdown" clock.

Okay, no harm no foul. :)
(I read the article from the WPcentral app, and that didn't give those links..)

As a US company, it's hard to fault Microsoft for giving preference to its native time zones. Conveniently, they are providing local times for locations worldwide, found on the event page (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hub/reveal). Also conveniently, Daniel included a "watch the event live" link to the same event page in the article.

Even though I know that I wouldn't be getting one this year I'm excited too. T-2hourish

Daniel, you changed your comment, I thought the latter was much more appropriate..lol

I'm looking forward to seeing what the new one will bring, but not in any hurry at all.  My game habits have changed over the last several years.  I don't even care about getting new games on day of release, opting to wait for them to drop in price (oh hey, Far Cry 3 is $30 on Amazon today... hmm...), so that new philosophy extends to a new console.  There's so many GOOD games I still haven't played on 360.
To think, I used to be one of those people who would pre-order the whole kit and caboodle and stand in lines on day one and take the day off to check it out.  Not anymore.

So what does everyone think the name of the next Xbox will be?....I'm going with "Xbox 720" because it makes sense...Even the Atari 2600 doubled to 5200 back in the day.
