Medieval Math Battle, mathematics with a punch, hack and slash

Medieval Math Battle

Medieval Math Battle is an educational game for Windows Phone 8 that combines a fantasy adventure with basic math skills. You travel a Medieval world battling giant spiders, dragons, goblins and other mystical creatures.

All the while learning addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Medieval Math Battle may not appeal to everyone but I've got to admit it's a fun way to learn the basics of math with. It's definitely a game worthy of our Windows Phone Kids Corner.

Game play with Medieval Math Battle takes place in a fantasy land where you battle various monsters and earn coins that can be used in the game's shoppe to upgrade your character.

When in battle, you have to solve mathematical problems to strike at your opponent. If you incorrectly solve a problem, your hero misses his attack and is more vulnerable to counter attacks. Combat is turned based and if you start to get into trouble, there are various potions lining the top of the screen that will give your character a slight edge.

If you're curious about how well you (or your child) is doing with the game there is a report card feature off the main menu. The report card will display the game time and which problems are posing problems or that have been mastered.

Medieval Math Battle

If you're looking for a fun game to help your child with math skills, Medieval Math Battle is worth a try. Math problems are along Elementary School level, likely K-5 grades if I had to guess.  In just tinkering with the game for a short time, the only downside is that there aren't any gaming options to mute the music/sound effects.  Otherwise, the game ran smooth and I can see it being an attractive learning game for our younger audience.

The free version of Medieval Math Battle includes the addition module with subtraction, multiplication, and division modules running $.99 each via in-app purchase. You can save a little and buy the full package for $1.99.

Medieval Math Battle is available for Windows Phone 8 devices and you can pick up your copy here in the Windows Phone Store.

Those who downloaded the app and even reviewed it?

Maybe people with kids that enjoy RPG's, but are a tad slow in their adding skills?

Who cares that you're alive? Good question.

Who cares? Obviously parents with young kids learning math... I have 5 and 8 year old boys and this would be a perfect aid to help reinforce. They get board with flashcards really quick, but can play games forever.

Go away troll.

Apple should get this app for the IOS7 team, it could help them figure Daylight Saving Time calculations.

Devs please publish your apps here in Brazil. I can help with the process...

The quotes from kids in the app description scream, "sketchy," but I'll give the app a chance, since my nieces are at the perfect age for this.

Wow! This is a well made game, great graphics and sound. The devs should license link as a downloadable character like the Combo Crew devs licensed the Street Fighter characters. From what I can tell in my short play time, this game has high production values and great controls. Yes, controls matter in this type of game too. Nothing is worse than trying to press a tiny icon with inaccurate touch response when your life depends on it.
As a former elementary school teacher, I appreciate the effort that the devs put in to this title to help people young and old ENJOY math and it's many concepts.

Agreed, I believe this is the centerpiece of the action in the next Bond film.
