Microsoft launches this month's photo contest: Summer Nights

The Windows Phone team has been impressed by submissions sent in by consumers in previous contests, so here we are again but this time it's all about summer nights. The winning entry for this month's contest will have their submission featured on the Windows Phone Facebook page (as the lead header - see above). Select fan photos will also be highlighted on Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and also the Insider newsletter.

Since the theme is Summer Nights #Reinvented, be sure to send in photos taken with a Windows Phone that captures how you've managed to reinvent a summer evening this year. Each selected photo will be displayed with the first name of the person who took the shot, their hometown and the name of the handset used.

To submit your Windows Phone Photo:

  1. Take an awesome photo with your Windows Phone.
  2. E-mail your entry to
  3. In the subject line of your e-mail, please write “CHALLENGE: SUMMER NIGHTS #REINVENTED”.

It's stated that when photos are sent into the supplied email address, details including the photos app, name, city / state/ country and a few sentences describing the photo and the story behind it, as well as why it represents summer nights. The only requirement is that a Windows Phone is used to take the shot. Also, remember to name the image files with your first and last name, followed by the theme of the contest (this month is "Summer").

The contest is open until 11:59 PDT on Tuesday, June 25th. Submissions will be judged on their creativity, resourcefulness, aesthetic beauty and simply the overall impression the photo makes on the team. You can also check out the rules here for all the dos and don'ts. We'll be sure to look out for all your submissions!

Head on over to the Windows Phone Blog for more details.

Northern Hemisphere only so you're not invited.  And you have to know what PDT is (no idea).  This is classic Microsoft, xenophobic and totally incompetent, arrogant Americans who have no idea that there is actually a world out there, a lot nicer than their country with their drugs and guns and aids and welfare and communist government and no freedom of speech.

Summer loving had me a blast
Summer loving happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be

Summer days drifting away
To, oh, oh, the summer nights
