Monster Island coming to Xbox Live on Windows Phone next week
While Sid Meier’s Pirates! is arriving on Xbox Live this Wednesday, Microsoft has already announced next week’s new title as well. It will be Monster Island from Miniclip.
Monster Island is basically a monster-themed version of Fragger. Instead of a grenadier, you’re now a monster who must defeat invading monsters. Aim and throw five different kinds of monster grenades to destroy your stationary enemies. With four huge sets of levels, it offers plenty of bomb-throwing fun. Being a Miniclip title, Monster Island will also feature optional microtransactions, allowing players to purchase level skips and solutions with Microsoft Points.
Monster Island comes to Windows Phone on Wednesday, April 18 and will cost $2.99. If you’d like to try it sooner, check out the Flash version at Miniclip.com.

Hopefully the achievements will be similar to fragger too. It was a really fun game especially for the price.

I think it's a shame that their is still just one XBL game with multiplayer(Chess).
I hope Carcasonne and the Zombies update comes soon.

Because one angry birds clone is not enough...
220SeaChaser says:
Imagine that. Another game that appears on XBL for $$$$$. So many of these games that are free on Android and iOS make it to XBL and instantly have a price on them. May sound trivial but to me, it's not a very good welcome to the platform for people leaving the aforementioned.
SlayerSpecial says:
It is, if you have the pirated stood version, but that's silly to compare... Anyways most ppl have this idea that everything is free and happy on droid land.
220SeaChaser says:
It was when it came out, dude.
Peter McCain says:
And we know the consequences of free aps on android... Battery killers

Being that your an Android fanboy you obviously have no clue. First I'll take any game on Windows Phone any day over its Android equivalent. Our games come with free trials attached with more then enough game play to keep you happy. I have an Android in my house so I know what I'm talking about. Windows Phone is much better then the ad fest that you have to put up with on Android. AB Space was so annoying to play, waiting on this stupid add to disappear so I could see the screen. How about You Draw with the forced add after each play telling you you have a message that takes up the whole screen. Then when you touch it because you don't know why it's there it takes you to another add. Lets not forget that there's an ad on the bottom of the game while you play on top of what I just mentioned. You can keep that Android shit.

miniclip is on a roll with these xbox live games. i personally LOVE istunt 2. if you haven't played it yet, go grab it now!

I don't think anybody would complain if they were more fairly priced to be in competition with Android and iOS. What benefit do we get from having a Windows Phone.
pressstart says:
The Metro experience, duh. Not sure why games would be the sole reason to own a smartphone. If that was the case, then choose accordingly with an iPhone or Android.
SlayerSpecial says:
Games wise for is Xbox Live, my whole video gaming collection is Live centric, since Combat Evolved, and I don't mean multiplayer experience, but the whole ecosystem. That said, games is not the sole reason for owning the beautiful OS/dwvices, the Amazing Everyday is.

Can't wait! I love me the MiniClip titles. iStunt and Fragger were awesome little games - this sounds like fun too.

Sid Meier's pirates is already available in Germany.
I've just downloaded it!
theman60099 says:
You're 7-10 hours ahead of us that's why
SlayerSpecial says:
Yes! Out in Lisbon as well. Thanks for the tip. Fellas, search for Pirates in games, might show up. Yo oh oh and a bottle of rum!
maxschels says:
Yes, but it's still tuesday ;)
SlayerSpecial says:
Respect Miniclip support to the beautiful OS, but dudes are annoying with the nagging for review popups, idk if they continue to do it, but it pisses me off so much I end up not only not reviewing but also not buying, the admittedly fairly good, games.
SlayerSpecial says:
Oh man... Sid's Pirates is 225 Mb! That's big!
kidjenius says:
WHAT?! how much is it?!
SlayerSpecial says:
Live's lowest tied, 2.99 EUR, or the equivalent in funky money.
xoxotopcatxoxo says:
You can also get the metro experience from both iOS and android duh! Need a better reason than that to convince people to switch to WP.
SlayerSpecial says:
I don't think you should change, droid is cheaper, why you want to change?

I'm a little burnt out from Fragger and this appears to be a reskinned version, but hey, I'm all for their support of WP7.
Shuurie Mead says:
I hope this one version here would really be similar to Fragger. The game was awesome then, and this one should surpass it or be equal to the features of Fragger. - TexasLending.com
