Panoramic managed to get their v2.1 update through the Marketplace today for moTweets and it was well worth it. The full changelog is listed here, but what you need to know is that it is significantly faster, in our opinion.
Loading of the app is quick but more importantly, the overall performance between swiping actions is near instant now. In fact, the on-device caching of data (meaning you don't have to redownload each time on launch) is top notch, making is very smooth and quick. Heck, it feels almost brand new to us. We also like the ability to "run beneath the lock screen" which means if your device turns off, when you click it back on there is no "refresh" operation taking place--you're just back where you started with no delay. We also dig the Tap’n’Hold options on a Tweet--makes tasks easier.
So is this our new default Twitter app? It just may be, between all the options and now the performance enhancements, we're impressed. Of course Panormic isn't done yet and have even more features we're told coming "in the next few weeks".
Grab moTweets (Free) here and moTweets 'premier' here. Give it a spin and let us know if we're too exuberant in our new assessment.

Keeps on crashing for me, so options I change always revert to default. Dont think this is ever going to work for me.
Which phone? I have it on my Focus and it's working well.
DVP, I'm starting to think most of my application problems are because of the crash happiness of this phone. I hope to do a backup when the update hits and try my 3rd sd card swap, maybe that will fix it.
Seems a reboot and reinstall have helped, settings saved on second try and works smoothly. After buying birdsong though, dont think i'll be buying this as well. If someone uses an ad supported version, is your phone giving up the same data as a pc? Seeing as how its impossible to tell who provides the ad service I would have no way of knowing if its google adding my info to its already huge database, which I would prefer to avoid.
agree with daniel, this app is now even more awesome.Only problems I have with it now, is that it doesn't auto correct words (though they pop up to select), and it gives you a double error it is unable to retreive twitter data (before it gave you a blank page).I agree that it is faster, you have more choices for how many tweets to auto download, when you get to the bottom of the timeline it will autoload the next batch.More options if you long press on a tweet (reply, retweet, quote, reply to all, open any link that is in the tweet). Saves a step of opening the tweet just to click on a link.Overall, sorry birdsong, but panoramic has won me back.
Getting the same double error when tapping on a tweet. Otherwise the options and speed are great.
Does it have Live Tiles for people where it mentiones there are new tweest (i.e. a number say 10 for 10 new)? For me, the tile seems live because it added my own pic from Twitter, but it doesn't feature the numbers for new messages, something which Beezz has, and I think is vital, it's annoying have to open the app everytime just to check if there are new tweets.
Woke up this morning and had a "1" by my picture. When I hit the tile, it opened to "mentions" and sure enough, I have a new one. Give it some time with their servers--may take a bit to register with them.
Hmm, well, I had it installed since the day of the 1st release, and I never got any mentions of new messages. But I'm thinking my Live Tiles of newly installed apps might be broken. The old ones I had, like Beezz and The Weather Channel work fine, and update fine. But lately I installed Weatherbug & MoTweets, and they never seem to update the live tiles.Weird.Or did you mean you have had the new message indicators from v2.1 on?
Never used 2.0 that much as it was too laggy, so never tested the live tile.Live Tiles/Push is weird on WP7--very sensitive. If two apps overlap on the channel, it could cancel out the notification. Also, there doesn't seem to be toast notifications, just a Live Tile counter.
Hmm, any way I can check if MoTweets somehow 'overlaps' on a specific 'channel'?
No where on their change log do they say anything about Live Tiles. I'll give it a look to see what's going on.
I don't have a Twitter account but I'm thinking about starting one. Trying to decide if this or Birdsong is the premiere Twitter app. Has anyone used both?
I need them to support twitter list, love the other feature great app
@Figure 8 Dash Ive used both and prefer Birdsong becuase its so smooth and fast. Yes MoTweets has a few extra features, but still...
