MyLiveTile - Windows Phone Live Tile Organizer [How To]

Organizing your Live Tiles and Live Tile generators are nothing new (see our earlier post on the topic). Heck, our own Rich Edmonds created a pretty swanky one on his blog for everyone. In that regard, MyLiveTile is not exactly ground breaking, but it is designed well enough and perhaps this post will serve as a reminder on how to do this or even that you can do this.

All this site does is create a perfectly sized square that you can "pin to your start screen" using Internet Explorer. The effect is spacers between your Live Tiles to give a better sense of organizations e.g. separate your games from your contacts from your apps. Pretty cool and it's actually quite handy, once you have 20 or more tiles on your device.

So navigate to http://www.mylivetile.com/ using IE on your device, follow the directions and walla, you're done. Now go organize your clothes closet already and no, we're not helping with that one, so don't ask.

(Thanks, Ramiro, for the heads up!)

Such a simple idea...Microsoft needs to implement this :-)

Nice workaround but can't believe people put so many tiles on their home screen...Personally I'm really protective about how many tiles I have on my home screen.I always only allow my home screen to be a max of 8 tiles high...that way I can quickly flick top and bottom and see 4 rows in each view without worrying about slowly scrolling to avoid missing tiles in the middle.I wonder if WPCentral would think it interesting to run a post encouraging people to submit photos of their WP home screens as I'm sure there would be a huge amount of variety.

This is pretty awesome! So simple, cheap and easy...yet brilliant!Yes, MS needs to implement this in a more effective manner, such as making the "tab" tiles folders. That's just out of the top of my head... I don't mind having many tiles on my home screen, because I'm not a fan of the one row app screen, when you swipe left. I have many apps and scrolling through all of them is a b*tch. I say Windows needs to bring back folders..."Folder Tiles" ...Anyway... your Welcome WP Central...

Gak, spaces between the tiles makes Metro look almost ordinary.

this is simply brilliant! the dev is a genius.the only thing I wish they'd fix is: they should allow the insertion of blank spaces before the word, that way if you're using a different color for the tile than your background, the text won't be so close to the border of the tile.(the app automatically removes the space when you click Generate.)cheers!
