New Twitter app 'Birdsong' first look [Video]

We got word today of a yet another Twitter app in the Marketplace (see Beezz, Seesmic, Twitt, etc.), this one called Birdsong, which has a nice ring to it.

The app fetches for a pricey $1.99 and there is a free trial, but is it worth it? Our initial impression is for a v1.0 app it's pretty rockin' and yeah, we actually bought it. The main thing we like about is its looks: it feels almost like a native Twitter app. It also caches nicely, has threaded conversation views, retweet (old and quote), landscape support, inline pic viewing, Twitpic uploading and more. The UI is real slick and there's "infinite scrolling" so no more "load more" screens.

We look forward to seeing what comes next from the developer, who is already working on v1.1. You can check the developer's site here for more info and grab the trial here in the Marketplace.

I'm grabbing it now. I've been looking for a twitter that that I can quote RT.Initial:+ Very slick presentation! + Fast+ RT with comment+ Timeline/DM/Mention count- Doesn't show many tweets in time line. Need the option to reduce the font size- No push, but that's cool for nowMy new favorite twitter app.

very nice twitter app! I do wish we had one twitter app that remembered your place on the timeline. For example, if I go a day without checking my twitter, when I open it up it refreshes and then goes to the top, at which point I usually have 100+ new tweets, but the only way to read them is to go newest to oldest, or guess my spot and scroll WAY down...

Hi,v1.1 of Birdsong has just released. This delivers major performance and stability as well as a few new features such as run under lock screen, multi-language support and landscape mode. Now we have a really stable platform we are working on delivering more advanced features such as multiple accounts, push notifications etc..Check out v1.1 here: http://social.zune.net/redirect?type=phoneApp&id=ac61a1bc-9325-e011-854c...With v1.1 we’ve also taken steps to improve our support offering by opening a brand new Support Portal on which you can make (and vote on) feature requests, discuss ideas and issues with the Birdsong Community, and contact us for support.
