Nokia Lumia 2520 now available for pre-order at Carphone Warehouse

Lumia 2520

The Nokia Lumia 2520 is now available for pre-order at Carphone Warehouse. The UK retailer is offering an enticing deal: a free Power Keyboard included with the asking price. The 4G LTE Windows RT tablet is available SIM-free for £399 in red. John Lewis has had exclusivity of the Nokia tablet since late November last year.

Sporting a 10.1-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU, 32GB internal storage, 4G connectivity and running Windows RT 8.1, it's a powerful workhouse capable of running apps and games from the app store, as well as Microsoft Office. As noted above, CPW is offering a sweet deal for those who pre-order. The retailer will be bundling the Power Keyboard (worth £99).

Under £400 for the Lumia 2520 is a solid deal and one we expect many to take full advantage of. We'll hopefully see more details on supporting operators soon.

If you're ready to place an order down, head on over to Carphone Warehouse website.

Oh beauty.......!!!

gizzzmo says:

does it come in yellow? or any other color than red?

immyperez says:

In the UK Nokia aren't even officially releasing it in Cyan...let alone yellow. I was going to get Cyan from handtec.co.uk but then John Lewis had a special offer which ends tonight (21st March 2014)...£300! So I grabbed it in black (red is also available). I thought I would hate black as I have yellow 1020 and purity pros. But I love it in every way. It feels amazing! It is a fingerprint magnet though, lol!

2tomtom says:

Does it come with the Office 2013 suite for free, like the Surface does?

willboyce says:

It dropped white. Arrrrgggghhhhhh. And blue. Well i have 400.00 to spare i smell rayban personalized sunglasses coming on

gizzzmo says:

just for the record, john lewis is offering it at £299 in red and black, so... do your maths.

rockstarzzz says:

+ £99 for keyboard? Doesn't it come to the same price, mathematically?

Hey can anyone tell me, is the desktop environment same on the winRT ? I know it is made for ARM architectures and apps have to be specially made for it, but does it have any difference for the desktop legacy environment ? Does it have a desktop even ?

OMG55 says:

Yes, it does have a desktop environment, but you cannot install legacy applications. I've been able to get legacy applications on the ones I put in my corporate environment by using Microsoft's remote app server which is a role you can install on any win 2008 or 2012 server in your environment. Once you've set the role up on the server, you can publish the apps; all you have to do on the client device, whether its full win 8.1 or RT is access the control panel, select remote apps & desktop and put the URL you chose for your remote app server in the proper area. We've been using our rt devices without issue since. Microsoft's remote app server is much faster, more reliable, and cost effective than citrix/zen app or whatever their calling it these days.

Oh thanks ! :) though that way i dont think it is for me, because accessing applications remotely sounds so unlike me... :) its okay for enterprise users though.

Any idea on when the 2520 will be coming to South Africa?

DJCBS says:

Since the damn tablet isn't released in Europe, I think I have no choice but to have it shipped from the UK even if they there insist on using those silly plugs that no one else in Europe uses...:P

marky9074 says:

Those silly plugs that are one of the safest in the world?

Tomasz S. says:

I can't imagine how a plug could be dangerous.

kyleo_2009 says:

Have you never stood on a plug before? Lol its a bad as Lego!
