Nokia Lumia 625 now available in Qatar, soon in Singapore; gets Netflix and free cover deal with Phones4U

Although Nokia has their Lumia 1020 to start global distribution in the coming weeks, their other new phone, the Lumia 625, is now rolling out worldwide.

The latest country to pick up the 4.7-inch 800x480 Windows Phone 8 device would be Qatar, through Consolidated Gulf Co. (CGC) who distributes for Nokia in the region. The phone is retailing for QR 999 ($275 USD) and is now available “across major electronic retail stores in a range of colours including orange, yellow, bright green, white and black”. The device is expected to help transition the region to 4G and should be a great choice for those looking for a compelling Windows Phone without committing to much money.

The other interesting tidbit is for those in the UK who are looking to pick up the same Lumia 625. The site Phones4U is offering the colorful device through Vodafone for free with various price points for service. To help sweeten the deal, they are also tossing in free six-months of Netflix service and a free colored cover with every purchase. That’s certainly an interesting offer for what is turning out to be a fun phone.

Finally, Nokia Singapore teased the imminent release of the Lumia 625 on their Facebook page where they posted an image of the phone along with "Who wants one of these heroes? Watch this space for updates!". That's a fairly strong hint that the Lumia 625 should be available there soon as well, so says the site 21stTech.

The Nokia Lumia 625 runs with a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, Windows Phone 8 GDR2 (+ Nokia Amber), 8GB of storage (with expandable microSD) and a 2000 mAh battery. Its claim to fame of course is the relatively large 4.7-inch display and in certain markets, LTE connectivity.

Windows Phone Central recently did an unboxing and feature tour of the device and our review should be up within a few days.
