Nokia Lumia 630 now available in Asia, with Europe sales to follow next week

Nokia Lumia 630

Nokia announced that the Lumia 630 will start going on sale today. The Microsoft-owned smartphone-maker says that sales of the Lumia 630 will start in Asia this week and that the device will be headed to Europe and the U.S. after.

The Lumia 630 was introduced recently at Microsoft's Build conference and will ship out of the box with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. There are two variants to choose from — a single-SIM and a dual-SIM model.

The Lumia 630 single-SIM model is expected to retail for 119€ before taxes while the dual-SIM model will go for 129€. The phone will be available in colorful shells that can be swapped out in hues such as bright orange, bright green, bright yellow, black, and white.

The Lumia 630 ships with a 4.5-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 3, a quad-core processor that supports the SensorCore tech used for fitness tracking, and an 1830 mAh battery.

In the U.S., a 4G LTE variant of the Lumia 630 known as the Lumia 635 will be headed to AT&T, Metro PCS, and T-Mobile this summer. Be sure to check out our unboxing and hands-on video below.

SA3DX says:

Windows phone 8.1 is now official with this device out. Edit: I mean the preview has ended. And whoever said they're testing Xbox music.... Well umm.. There should be an update for that and games hub too.

NIST says:

You're so good

Because its future was uncertain until now. :P

SA3DX says:

I meant it isn't a preview anymore :D

Except it still is.

ivo_apo says:

Another chunky phone from Nokia. The bezel is in different liege even for Nokia standard. If you want to loose market share, keep releasing devices like this.

SA3DX says:

Well the 620 is better than this. It had flash, a front camera, and NFC, well it's fully functional like a high end device except cutting away a few corners ex: Better camera - higher res display..

atherosxd says:

But 520 is 630s predecessor. 620s successor is 625 as far as I know

wozburger says:

A different liege?! Surely there is only one

Suedezu says:

I wonder if the 630 has the 8.1 update that was released today for the DP version

SA3DX says:

I was thinking about that too

RaRa85 says:

Dear 630 take all the time you need making it to the US.

MikeSo says:

I just want someone to buy this to give the OS version so we can settle the debate about whether DP was "final" version or not! :D

Studio384 says:

DP isn't final version, debate settled. as confirmed by MS.

DarwinPurol says:

Does the back camera will work on skype? I know theres none in the front.

Mark Richey says:

That would be great. The rear camera and a big ass mirror.

Asceish says:

Unlike Microsoft, Nokia knows where is the business more large... Aisa rather than US...

Microsoft = Nokia = Microsoft = ...

Tomorrow will be announced here in Brazil, in a exclusive version with HDTV built in. I don't get why MS didn't mention Brazil in their announcement today. Even MS forget us...

And when they remember us? Surface what?

Flavio76 says:

Great I will buy one

souza_souzas says:

A MS tem que subsidiar o preço.

DJCBS says:

119€ is a great price...what a pitty it will not retail for less than 200€ here. (The Nokia X - 89€ - is being sold here for 150€).

Mayur says:

Where is here?

MikeSo says:

Portugal, according to his profile.

DJCBS says:

Portugal, according to my profile (profiles are accessible through a click over the user avatar)

Mayur says:

Thanks, I was not on a computer, I was using WPC app for WP. Is there any way to access user profiles on WP?

Tafsern says:

Bring 930 to Norway in June, please!

Agreed, sitting on a 520 until it comes :(

kiwidoc67 says:

Shame no front camera

BataBole says:

God please let them make one 4" flagship windows phone, tired of those huge display devices. Oh, i missed the topic!

Most important, what are the prices in the Philippines?

kurtd says:

How much Ram? Will the US variant have dual SIMs?

Mark Richey says:

Asia = anywhere but Japan

Tips_y says:

Japan has no love for WP so it's all good.

milfermon says:

I just don't find it to be an exciting phone, it lacks too many things

mevalmvm says:

Yea yea whatever. I want 930 let me know once it is out here in India.

mango.lover says:

When is it coming to Latin America?

Sonic98 says:

Are there no Phone markets in Africa?

MrDaedra says:

Gorilla glass 3 but no dedicated camera button.

eKlergy says:

Someone said that the 630 is an upgrade of the 520, I thought the 525 was. If it an upgrade, its. A good one

c41 says:

the main problem with the entry level lumias is the build quality. (cheap policarbonate back i changed my back cover 3 times in half a year on my L625...) and please MS, if some random chinese android manufacturer can put minimum of 1G ram of their devices (ok i know lagdroid), please spend this 5 dollars more to the budget.

the only thing i hate in the 512 ram devices is the constant high app resuming time. this is ruining the UX.

The 525 had 1 GB ram, so can we say the 630 is better?

gcdc_lumia says:

i hope 930 arrives in philippines by Q3. by that time i'll able to renew my contract and finally switch to 8.1! wohoo... my 7.8 feels so dead. i can still suck it up though.

Although it has 512mb ram....
