Nokia Lumia 800 coming to Bangladesh in February

Even more good news for those emerging markets, Nokia Bangladesh has confirmed via Facebook that the Lumia 800 will be coming to that country in February 2012.

"Dear All the Nokia Fans: good news is that Nokia Lumia 800 will be available in Bangladesh starting from February,2012. Another good news is that this device will come with Windows Mango software not WP7.Lets wait for the device..Surely it will rock you.."

That's an interesting date because it's the first 2012 time-frame we've heard and could signal when Nokia plans to launch, in quantity, Nokia Windows Phones to the rest of the world--and yes we also mean the United States.

Fingers crossed.

Source: Facebook; Thanks, James A., for the tip!

I think that February 2012 does seem like a possible worldwide release date. Only two "bunches" of countries have been announced: the European six (Netherlands, UK, etc), and the emerging six (China, Taiwan, India, etc).It doesn't really make sense randomly releasing the Lumia in Bangladesh and nowhere else in the world; if it was only destined for the country, it would've been included in the original emerging six.On another note, maybe February is the date of Tango launch. We know Tango is there to help Nokia, and is aimed at developing markets. Maybe we will see a huge expansion of services to countries like Bangladesh. On another note, I wouldn't actually call this announcement. I'd say its the unorganised Bangladeshis leaking the release date by mistake! :P (I'm Bangladeshi, so not trying to be racist)

Haha, this is the funniest post I've seen on WPC in a while. Bangladesh on the map!Out of curiosity, do you know if BD gets access to the Windows Phone app marketplace? I'm currently in a country that doesn't and it's starting to annoy me.

Chicken7 says:

No idea; I live in Australia now. But to be honest, I'd bet 1 trillion dollars it isn't! Microsoft only supports big Western countries. Not even India had the app marketplace 'til recently. But there's such a big market there; 160 million people. And Nokia is HUGE there.
