Nokia Lumia 900 finally coming to Singapore on May 26th

WP Central

Around here at WPCentral, we get a lot of international users asking "When is X coming to my country?". The Lumia 900 is one of those frequently asked about and specifically in Singapore.

So we're glad to report that it's officially launching there on May 26th, fetching for S$849 (US$ 670) and available in three colors: matte-black, glossy-white and of course, cyan.

The pricing may seem a bit high, especially since in the US it can be had for $450 (off-contract). However pricing is relative and from what we understand high-end devices like HTC and Samsung often sell for S$900 or higher. In that sense the Lumia 900 is not cutthroat cheap but it's fair. Reportedly three carries will have the device available to consumers within a few weeks.

How well will Nokia and Windows Phone fair in Singapore remains to be seen. They already ave the Lumia 710 and 800 (in fact they had the 800 way back in December). Will the 900 grab that upper echelon of the market? We hope so.

What about Tmobile USA for God sake?

Well, we never bought into/reported on any rumors for T-Mobile and the 900 so it's still up there as "wishful thinking" until we see anything hinting otherwise. Sorry.

JoePR31 says:

I'd love to see a poll illustrating the percentage of your readers that are still waiting for a true upgrade to the HD7 to buy a new phone, vs. the amount who gave in and bought a Radar or Lumia 710, vs. the ones who got sick and tired of waiting on TMOUS and switched to AT&T.

mmoses1978 says:

Well I like the larger screens, my wife has the radar and she loves it but I would love the Lumia 900 on Tmobile. They always get the low it midrange phones.

When T-mobile refarms their network you will be able to have this phone.

mmoses1978 says:

This sucks man, I have the HD7 and I am past due for upgrade, I am not going to Android and ATT data plans are to expensive, but if I buy the phone unlocked I will not get 3g nor 4g.

ejlee072006 says:

Go to att.. Get what you pay for.. That lte is super fast..

Marco300 says:

Good to hear Nokia Lumia expanding in more Countries! ,:D

TechAbstract says:

I switched from Tmobile to ATT. ATT is expensive but their LTE has way stronger signal than Tmo 4G/3G where I live. I have signal everywhere I go to now.

WinFan1 says:

i also switched from tmo to att because i cannot take all the android dribble they put out there they have 2 win phones 1 bberry and 19 androids it is a joke id rather pay the extra twenty bucks

Why doesn't this site just report on the T-mobile refarming that's in progress? That way so many people wouldn't be complaining about T-mobile not getting a phone on every article

inteller says:

pricing for everything in Singapore is ridiculous.

Yeah the cost of living here is madness

syncretism says:

I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that this was announced after I bought the 800. could have waited for the 900....... I prefer FF camera and bigger screen zzzz

It's the phone I have been waiting for a long time.
I just wished the phone was cheaper. Sigh.

This phone is so sexy
